Given that it's a grass field and my Ducks don't play on grass very often and that' teams have been known to alter natural surfaces to hamper opponents. Do you expect Tenn to play any of those games to slow down the Ducks?

Notre Dame did a blatant job of this against USC a couple years ago. I'd swear that the grass was longer than the ruff at the local coarse. Also, pretty wet and slippery.

Just asking

In my experience, the grass has been cut at the same short length for every game I've been close to the field for.

I'm fine with it as long as you don't go all OSU on us and blame the cleats. You're sponsored by Nike so it's no excuse

and no, I don't expect that to happen

I've never seen Tennessee's field look anything but immaculately manicured during a game. The drainage is also second to none. We could have a torrential downpour, but the field will look dry 15 minutes later.

That's cool. Living in Oregon where it rains a lot we've always had issues with drainage, hence an artificial turf at Autzen. In the natural turf days, it was mud bowl time.

I think those days are long gone at Oregon ..... ;(
I was definitely a student back in those days. Even remember finding some growing in front of Johnson Hall where the university president's office is. Cracked me up. That's back closer to the days when they filmed "Animal House" there.

Now the focus is more about Business, Law, Pre-med, Journalism, Architecture.

I believe it's 420 tif bermuda mowed at 3/4"...slightly higher than a fairway on a golf course. And, if I remember correctly, the base is sand, not dirt. This, along with the exceptional drainage, is the reason you do not see mud when it rains. Bermuda grows very well on a base of sand.

Ok, so why a natural turf? Seems like the majority of stadiums these days are artificial.
