Neyland this morning

I remember sitting there thinking, do we really need this with all the redneck jokes about us. It was really bad.

One of my favorites was, "It's third, and the river."

OP, don't let some of these haters get you down, this board will rip you to shreds if you let them. That's awesome if they changed our pregame video, I agree that the ones of past years have been pretty lame. Like something you would want to fall asleep to. I want to get super-pumped when that big arse jumbotron comes on and the music starts blasting.

thanks for the post

I was walking by Neyland stadium this morning on the way to my office, when all of a sudden music started blasting from the stadium speakers. Not just music though, music coupled with crowd noise. Like a school girl I ran up Peyton Manning Pass, and found a spot where I could see the Jumbotron. I was treated to about a 6 minute clip of 2010, er.....2009 highlights, set to some pretty decent music. Now I'm not one to go jumping out of my seat for just anything, especially Heavy Metal or Country music, but the stuff they were playing was decent (LL Cool J's "Don't Call it a Comeback" set to some pretty nasty guitars).

After the clip was over I was damn near ready to go run through the T myself. Unfortunately my dissertation is in some serious need of work.

I posit it was either a recruit, or they're testing out pre game videos. If its the latter, be ready to be treated this year. We may go 5-6, but you'll be pumped up for every game.

So I'll bring this back to the original discussion I was hoping to start, before my faux pas.

Tennessee's pregame has been lame for years, seems to cater to the grandpas in the stadium. After seeing Alabama's, Auburn's, LSU's, Florida's, ours pales in comparison. I hope what I saw was the pre-game, because we may finally have a decent one.

lets get lil wayne or snoop. would that make you happy?

FAIL post dude.

It was for the campers, I was there for the first camp. I did not make it for today but my brother was there. it is not a game day condition, it was just a highlight of UT football.

Are you simply talking about what is played on the jumbotron? If so, our pregame is performed on the field.

It's not a Kid Rock concert, it's Tennessee
Football.

Someone should have told that to the last coaching staff. I got so sick of hearing "Bawitdaba" every time someone kicked off last year. Hopefully "MY NAME IS KIIIIDDD..." went the way of Smokey's on the Prowl, never to be heard in Neyland again.

I'm glad somebody understood what I was saying.

Really?

Did I ever mention Lil Wayne or Snoop? I'm sorry for implying that a highlight video set to some Muse or other such band was a cool thing and might get the crowd a bit fired up. Furthermore, I'm sorry for stating how such things work at other schools. Didn't realize "Livin' on a Prayer" was a Tennessee thing.

Thanks for assuming though

I, again, completely agree on Kid Rock. Contrary to what some of you might think, there is decent Rock and Roll these days. You just have to sniff a bit more.

End of football camp for 9-12 grade. Did have recruits. I was there with my son. Nothing else.
