There will be USCjr fans through out the stadium. You guys usually show up pretty good. Please don't do that annoying "Go Cocks" cheer. It just sounds wrong.

Enjoy your trip. Safe travels. And Go

sorry that it sounds wrong lol It’s what we do. We are the Gamecocks and we say Go Cocks! 🤷🏻‍♂️

As previously answered, Shulz Brau is the German brewery you were probably referencing. Barley's in the Old City is also good. And there are some places on Market Square.

Despite what all the East Tennesseans on here say, Calhoun's is vastly overrated because of Rule #1 of BBQ: the farther from the Mississippi River, the worse the BBQ.

And since you guys are in your late 20s/early 30s, you definitely don't want to go to Littons. Except for the little kids being babysat by their grans, you'd be the youngest people there.

And anybody who says you'll have fun on the Strip hasn't been to Knoxville in a while -- there aren't any bars on it anymore. Sunspot does have decent food. Just off the Strip is Cool Beans where the college kids hang.

So to ask, where besides cool beans do the college kids go to party? In Columbia we had/have an area filled with bars called Five Points.

Hello to all. Gamecockfan here making my first trip ever to Knoxville this weekend from Flordia. One of my best friends is a VFL, living in Nashville and he will be driving over to meet us in Knox. Other Friend is a UCF alum but a die hard Florida State fan lol. He is impartial and just looking to have a great time. We are staying at the Baymont by Wyndham I-75 so we will probably uber to bars and nightlife and uber to the stadium on Saturday. We are all in our mid/late 20's to early 30's. Any recommendations on bars to visit or places to eat? I heard there is an awesome German brewery with good food too somewhere. Also we are sitting in Section Z14 row 50. I was told the lower portion up to about row 30 is visitor seating. Will there be a good amount of Gamecocks up there where we are or will it be all orange or a mix? Thank y'all and I'm excited for my first trip to Knox!!!
If you’re looking to really experience Knoxville and all it has to offer, I would recommend cancelling your reservation at that trashpile Baymont and look for a nice little AirBNB in the Walter P. Taylor homes area. They offer wonderful access to local attractions and you can get virtually anything you want within minutes.

OP, Balter Beerworks is probably the place you're referencing. Really good food (burgers specifically).

@gamecockfan19

I suggest you do some additional research on some of the places that are being advised for you to visit or stay because a few of those places could get you robbed or killed.

I enjoy some good ole SEC banter and opposing team hate, but I also appreciate when fans of other teams help make my stay in their city a pleasant one.

Again, I hope you enjoy your visit to Knoxville, but I also hope your team loses.

Go Vols!

Yes. German place is Schulz brau, but there are several other fun breweries. Balter and elkmont are both really cool.
Outside of those, just stick around gay street and market square area, and there’s tons of stuff. Some places mentioned are pretty swanky (and imo too pricey, like lonesome dove), but between gay st and market square, you can hit suttrees, downtown grill and brewery, scruffy city hall, preservation pub...

And dismiss the east magnolia comment. You won’t get killed (most likely), but you probably won’t enjoy what you find there.

The bleacher seats at the Icearium on Watt Road are excellent and most likely inexpensive.

looks like rain gear might be something to consider saturday. 50 rows up in the lower bowl is on the cusp of being under cover. You might be lucky there.

I mean seriously!!! All it takes is a google search to know that East Magnolia is a run down old part of town and the Walter P. Taylor homes is a section 8 housing unit with frequent crime, robberies, and shootings. That was not nice or cool! Thanks to everyone who has offered REAL suggestions though. We have a few places on the list to check out now!

I would have to second Cool Beans. My son is an avid Vols fan and he has taken me there several times after the game.
There is usually a mix of Vol and Visiting fans just having fun. So welcome and have a great time.

If you want to head across the river on James White Pkwy HiWire Brewing from Ashville has put in a cool place with great brews on tap. It is an old warehouse and has a bunch of games inside. Very kid and pet friendly but you have to deal with the Hipsters that are taking over South Knoxville. Skinny jeans galore!

I agree with sticking to the downtown area. There will be plenty going. Suttree's High Gravity Bar has a lot of craft beers and is attached to a barcade with lots of old school video games. The Downtown Grill & Brewery has good food, cheap (but good) beer, a great bourbon list, pool tables upstairs, and live music (usually). Barley's in the old city is a huge place that has a ton of beers, live music, good food (I like their pizza and black bean hummus), and plenty of bar games upstairs (pool tables, darts, foosball, etc). Maple Hall Bowling Alley is an awesome place but hard to get into if you actually want to bowl. Stock & Barrel has the best burgers around, but it's a small place and can be hard to get into on the weekend. Chivo Taqueria is run by the same folks, and they have a tequila bar and some of the best tacos around (although my favorite is the brisket burrito). If you like Asian food, head across the river and check out The Landing House. It is amazing, and there's a beer garden right across the street from it.

I hope you have a great time, spend lots of money in Knoxville, but leave thinking "we'll get 'em next year."

I was in 53 in the lower deck and I was under cover in M. I think 55 was last row? Or maybe our tickets were in 51 and 53 was the last row?

I only know about Cool Beans through my daughter because I'm WAY too far removed from being a college kid to know -- but I don't think you can go wrong with the suggestions on here about Market Square, Old City, Gay Street and the breweries (all of which are within easy walking distance of each other, except for Shulz Brau). I personally like Barley's because it's huge and easy to get in and it has good pizza and beer. Cool Beans is the closest of all those places to campus. In fact, it's almost on campus.
Have fun and be safe.

There was a seating chart I had once that had a line where the covered seats were. If I can find it, it'll be below.

Yup.. found it. You might have to click to make it full size. The little horizontal and vertical bars show the row number where the overhang stops, and I hope thats what this means.. I always took it to mean that.

North endzone: Row 42
West side (pressbox): Row 48
South endzone: Row 52
East side: Row 52

P.S. This is +- 5 rows or more if it's blowing rain. Reference LSU 2017 (or was it 2016?)

Minimum post requirement j/k...kinda

Calhouns is a must. Copper celler is good too. Chesapeake is one of my favorites. Youll have fun on the strip for younger guys. There are usually plenty of cocks there. Its much better than Columbia....lol
Calhouns in NOT a must. It is very mediocre. the strip currently sucks. Market Square and Gay Street are where it’s at.
