If the AA lets Maryland do this, they better let us checkerboard the whole endzone.

I thought that the NCAA made a ruling against teams doing this kind of crap, after Boise did it in the 80s. They obviously were grandfathered in, but no one else could do it. I remember this from a few yrs back when someone did an April Fool's joke blog that LSU was doing it.

Speaking of LSU and staying on thread topic...if you ever go to a game there don't get fooled by thinking your getting a sweet sweet deal by buying tickets within the first 10 rows. Their crown there is crazy. I was on the 4th row a few yrs back, and couldn't watch the game over the UT players. All I saw were heads moving around when looking across to the LSU side. Just a heads up.

No, the NCAA rule was a complete myth. Eastern Washington put in a red field in 2010

They are a FCS school...does this make a difference in if they are able to do it? Just wondering thats all. I hate it, so don't want to see any more of it on the top level. Can't watch Boise St games on TV, and can't stand these gimmicks. Hoping there is a difference is what I'm trying to say.

No, it doesn't make a difference. There is no NCAA rule on turf or endzone color.

I heard we were considering going to an all-briar field with orange rose bushes surrounding it as a hedge. Home field advantage.

As long as it's not like my Home Field. If you kick dirt in my back 40 you are down to the rock. Freaking horses hate me for moving them here. But my grass is a lovely shade of brown 7 month out of the year, so there is always that.

I don't know about the grass, but I always felt Neyland had a bigger dome in the middle of the field, when compared to others. I assume its regulated somehow, but I don't know.

I guess that's why other teams always seem to be running downhill to your endzones.

I was at Neyland Stadium yesterday and saw the lack of grass through the gate.

I guess this explains why the fans were allowed on the field before the orange and white game. ;)
