Neyland Stadium vs Titan's stadium

My experience in band (even on the off years of the 08 and 09 seasons) is that when we opened the T it got so loud it felt like someone was covering my ears and I couldn't hear the notes I was playing. Pair that with the ground shaking... well. Nothing compares.

Neyland much louder...on average...but Titans stadium sells beer just a few short stumbles from my seat which was way too cool for the bowl game

Neyland definitely has the potential to be louder for big games, however LP Field has had its moments. We have had season tickets since day one, and there have been moments that matched Neyland.

I go to a lot of Titans games, and the Music City Bowl last year, was the loudest I have heard that stadium.

So Neyland by a mile.

I was at the Music City game last year. I also go to every Titans game. The Music City game was not even close to the loudest I've heard LP. Maybe not recently but I remember some playoff games that place was rocking. That said.... if you compare a big playoff game to a big SEC game. Neyland is much louder. Of course it is 30000 more people.

Agree, when 50,000 people stand up and cheer and the other 50,000 are sitting and yelling "down in front" to the ones standing it can get loud!

Please, please, please do not sit down!
Even them yelling "sit down" will add to the decibel level. So stand tall for the Vols!

I've been in several stadiums and for as new as titan stadium is its a rust bucket!

and horrible for a fan view.

Example: I went to the Car v Titans game in Charlotte some years back and the guy that got us tickets was apologizing because we were on the next to the top row. Problem is that those tickets were about the level as mine at LP and I'm on row Q in the 300 deck.

I'm looking foward to about 10 more years and they can start whining about how out of date LP is so they can tear it down and make a better stadium. Either dome it or bowl it but NO open ends.

LP is a dump compared to Neyland.

well, I'm not going to go that far.

Unless you're in the North endzone, all the seats at Neyland are metal benchs. Every seat at LP is an actual seats with armrest and backs. A HUGE difference. Dont have to worry about anyone crowding in or leaning back against your legs or having knees in your back.

The concourses at LP are much wider and dont clog down like Neyland does.

And they will bring beer to you at LP. Makes up for being a dump

Titans playoff games are close but that's it. I was at the TN/GA game in 09 and going into the 4th quarter it was by far louder than any titans game I've ever been to.

Been to both Neyland much better. Jimmy Hynes said on the radio yesturday Neyland was voted 1 best college stadium in the country. College stadiums are much better and, more fun then pro stadiums.

Anybody who has been to both able to give a noise comparison?

I took the wife to the bowl game last year and the stadium did not seem that loud. I have been talking up Neyland to her for 6 years when we where in OHIO and this is the first time we are going to Neyland.

Is it a little louder than Titan's stadium or alot louder?

Thanks.

The seating situation is better in Nashville. I really like the stadium seats. I am a big guy and the bleachers in Knoxville and I don't always get along.

As for volume, there is not comparison whatsoever IF the crowd is into it at Neyland. Sometimes they sit on their hands and it gets a little sad. It should be louder.

I remember the Alabama game back in like 86 or 87 and it got so loud that the stadium was rattling and shaking and I actually thought it might fall down! Mind you, I was around 12 at the time.

Neyland is probably louder due to constructs of the stadium. LP, being an NFL stadium, is definitely nicer and more comfortable.

there was a play last week where montana was trying to call an audible and i swear the noise level went up 3 different levels on just that one play..its also pretty cool to look around and see all the people standing up and yelling.

LP can be very loud....or it used to be when the Titans were winning. There are times in Neyland when it is way too quiet for 100k fans. There have been games where I thought to myself that everyone must be hung way over or something. Having been to both stadiums many times I'd say that LP is louder on a more consistant basis, but that Neyland can get much louder when a top opponent comes to town and the Vols play well.

I remember back in 2002, the famous Titans-Steelers playoff game at LP Field, that is the 2nd loudest I've ever heard a sports stadium. Only behind the 2004 game winning kick vs Florida at Neyland.

Funny thing is, both games ended in a very controversial way, lol.

I remember LP getting all jacked up during a night game with Jacksonville back in the early 2000's
