Neyland Stadium Renovations - Updated

This would offset lots of commuter parking in the Neyland garage. Those students would have nowhere to park

I don't know if you've been in Neyland garage since they built the commuter garage at 11th Avenue, and all the commuter spots in the Lake Avenue garage, but the place is an absolute ghost town. When I was in school, I parked there without a tag for two years and never got a ticket, because the bottom three floors of it were always completely empty. Everyone that parks in the staff lot could easily fit in Neyland Garage with all the commuters there, and there would still be room to spare.

Lake ave is always empty. But its too damn far for me to walk when all my classes are on the hill. The 11th street parking garage is always full. Sad times.

Thanks Crusse!

I am a little iffy on the "Home of the Vols" sign. The placement at least. I would have liked to have the front of the entrance to not have anything like that but it still looks great overall!

I'm trying to figure out where they'll put the "Shields-Watkins Field" name. Is it under the Neyland name on the west wide, or under the Neyland name at Gate 21?

Neyland statue????

It's gonna be in front of this in the west side of the stadium

At first I didn't like all of the metallic stuff in the front, but now that the lettering is up, and everything is coming together, I must say that Neyland Stadiums is one of the most beautiful sights in college football.

Can't wait to see it Saturday.

I drove by earlier this afternoon, and the trees and grass were starting to look brown and wilted. You can sort of see it in blebyu's photos. Aside from the plants needing a little water, the stadium looks amazing. Way better in person than in the photos. Can't wait until Saturday!

It's still kind of weird to me eyes. It's kind of half and half right now. Do the future plans see it being fully covered in brick?

If I am wrong someone correct me but I am pretty sure the rest of the way up in the next phase will be covered in mirrored glass.

That's not in the plans.

When the revised plans for the Gate 10 and South end are finalized, they will very closely resemble the Gate 21 side.

o.k. guys got busy yesterday and wasn't able to post... these pics are from a few minutes ago

Honestly, I like the way it looks but it is really bothering me how the brick on the left side (if you are facing the gate) just kind of ends. I assume there are plans for it to continue around the stadium but that really looks bad imo

If you are referring to taking the brick columns higher, I believe they would have to remove the external ramp going to the upper deck. Probably would require the use of stairs from the previous internal ramps and moving some concessions stands. But, it may be possible.

Thanks to everyone who has posted pictures. Now that I'm no longer living in Knox... it's nice to know what to expect this Saturday. I think it's looks amazing and I can't wait to see it in person. GO VOLS!

Crusse10: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I have been hoping someone would post some close ups of those Gen Neyland Pics. It really looks great. I can't wait to get there.

GO VOLS!
