We had season tickets for 19 years beginning in 1989. What a great game day experience. parking right next to the stadium in the garage. Then we got moved next to a lot across the street from the sewage treatment plant. No problem, just walk down the tracks to the stadium.
Our last year was 09 or 10.
I don't recall when we got the Jumbotron. It was a great addition at first. Suddenly we got to see instant replays. But, the dam thing must have been turned over to freshmen/sophmores who were Drama majors. the replays were not eliminated, but the thing was nothing but crummy commercials and stupid loud noises, i.e. Smokey's howl. I had forgotten about that, but it was annoying while watching the game on TV last night.

ha, I think part of the problem is I got old, and set in my ways. On the other hand I don't hear that constant noise at other stadiums. Perhaps it is there, but not picked up on TV. i haven't been noticing the noise on other Vol games either this year. that seemed like a poorly produced game last night. poor audio and video.

I don’t think y’all are thinking this all the way through. We had the smallest crowd we’ve had all year last night so of course you’re going to hear the PA system on the tv more. Duh.

Was at the game, sat in north end zone, couldn't hear anything over South Alabama's 50 person pep band that seem to play every second the ball was in play. Lee Greenwood performed at halftime... couldnt hear a word he uttered because of the echo.

The installed two huge concert style stacks on either side of the jumbotron last season to add the piped in crowd noise. They are still there this season..

My seats last season were in about row 10 just under one of them. You couldn't talk to anyone while they were on.
