lol i know what you mean.

Side note, what do you think about the Astro's these days??? Think they will make any moves this offseason?

Another side note, was at a bar a couple months back in Olympia WA. And they were playing Robert Earl Keen, you ever heard the song Fighting Texas Aggie, pretty good tune, humorous as well

to answer your first question: hell no. We lost the greatest player (imo) that the stros have ever had. He was essentially "our" Mickey Mantle. Inorder for them to rise in the Central, a ton of work must be done. It started off poorly when they chose to axe "scrap iron" and hire this overpaid bench coach to be the manager. I for one, am not impressed with McLains choice there. Secondly, the stros have lots of potential in the farm, but they sell as soon as it looks good. I noticed Willey Taveras is playing in a World Series....hmmmmm...he used to play for ???? Thats right...the Astros. Also, see Carlos Beltran, NYMets. There is hope, but we have to , repeat, have to keep some of our home grown talent. Pitching espeacially.

Now as for your second question, REK is a legend in Aggieland. He is still around old Bryan quite a bit. I have had the pleasure of meeting him several times as he is an old school mate of my Father-in-Law. A very humble, approachable guy, who will have a cold beer with you. So, with that said, yes Ive heard the song, and anything he plays is gold as far as I am concerned. Bring folk country back!!

I agree with you about the way the Astros are heading. I hate to admit it but the Braves are twisting down the downward spiral as well. Although if they sign Tommy G and Hampton will get healthy for one year maybe they can win the division.

REK is awesome, I have heard a ton of his songs but never heard that one. Could not believe they were playing it at "The Office Bar" in Olympia but glad they did. Would love the oppurtunity to meet the guy, seems pretty down to earth.

Heres another question for ya. I think me and you both agree that if "ears" Tubberville skips town in Opelika than he is head to Aggie land. But, what if he stays a war eagle, tiger "whatever the hell they are" who do you believe the 12th man will hire?

ouch....great question. I have been trying to think about the psitive aspects of Aggie Football and the road to recoverery with Tubby at the wheel. IF .....and I hate this.....IF....Tubby is not coming to College Station, more than likely the aggies will find some Offensive Coordinator from some middle of the road school. Its sad, but its a historically true. I fwe cant get what we really want, we settle, and make it sound like its the best deal on earth. We lost Gillispie, see what happened. Middle of the road guy, made up to be great. We'll see. I think that the North Texas HC has a shot. I think that ...and this is not a stretch....Major Applewhite might wear maroon next year. Not as a head coach, but as an OC for (fill in the blank). Its a question that I havent thought of in a while, and unfortunaltely, Im out of time today. Let us continue Monday. To each and all a safe weekend! Enjoy some libations in moderation or get piss drunk and say your celebrating TXVOL'S happy 27th. Regardless, be safe, Gig em Ags, and Rock on RockyTop!!!
