Neyland Stadium Announcer

I started this thread just to see if anyone else noticed if Denton seemed to be a little to friendly to the opposing team when I think the announcer should show absolutely no enthusiasm toward any team playing against UT. Every other stadium does it, ho-hums the visiting teams accomplishments while using their tone to subliminally cheer for the home team. I NEVER said anything about wanting to get rid of him, he is truly a tradition in Neyland Stadium now and his voice I will always associate with the vols. I just thought he might want to try a little harder at downplaying the other team and whooping it up for the vols. We can no more get rid of him than any other vol tradition. If the VOLS lights over the jumbotron were crooked would we not straighten them? We sure wouldn't leave it and just say 'well thats just how it is'.....maybe someone can just tell him to make it obvious that Neyland is the vols house and anyone who comes in to challenge that is nothing as far as we're concerned.

He is as well known as Ward to me also. I have been going to Neyland for 30 years and he has been there as long as I remember. I have occasionally heard High School PA announcers throughout Tennessee mimmick him alot also when doing their announcements.
I can not see him giving any favorism to any team but TN. I have always heard that a good announcer will be somewhat neautral sounding anyway. Maybe that is his way of not being to much of a homer.
