Aight. Won’t win any speaking awards. But who cares. I’m sick of people winning the press conference. I still wish he’d said he doesn’t give a bleep about the whole state of Alabama.

My impressions:
-his parents looked pissed. Lol. You could smell their hatred for all things TN

-He remembered to thank his wife. SFD, he’s trying to make up for the plane debacle.

-he really is just a good ol southern boy. Listening to him talk, I can almost tell you what his house looked like growing up, the foods he ate and how he bought generic bread and milk.

-he is a worker. Couldn’t stand still at all. That’ll probably be the only time he wears that tie and suit.

-his wife looked proud of him. She smiled really big.

-I bet the guys will hate him after about 4 hard practices. But eventually will love him.

-he’s going to Cades house tonight. I just felt it.

-he wants to be here. He seemed humbled by the opportunity and wants to beat the shat out of everyone, especially Bama. (Just a guess but I know I would)

I fell for the press conference with the last 2 but that wasn’t an option tonight. Next step signing day. Not the early one. If he can get us a top 15 class, I’ll be impressed.

Yep. I feel the same way. He "gets" SEC ball and looks to be putting together a staff of SEC pros.

I'm a bit concerned over the offensive side, but we'll see how that plays out.

We won't know if Fulmer did the perfect thing until this plays out, but I sure as heck think he did a good thing and what he thought was best, I'm in so far, and the fact that he appears to have bucked Haslam's pick of Tucker makes me feel even better about it ... no it ain't Gruden, but it might be good

Aight, my hope is when he comes back to Knoxville from his Bama commitments that he always refers to Ala as "The State below Us" never to mention Bama again !

So, it's been about 12 hours for me and I've tried to wrap my head around UT Head Football Coach Jeremy Pruitt. The more I research, read, and hear about him, the more I want to like the man. So far, he's hired 4 solid position coaches and it looks like TN is getting in on some big time recruits. His resume and coaching experiences are amazing. The media, message boards, alumni, and the AD are gushing about how great he is. It's very exciting and gives me hope.
BUT...there is just 1 thing. That 1 major detail. That 1 variable that I hate the most, he's a bammar. I really hate the alabama crimson tide. My 1st post ever on VN was "screw bama". I respect the older bama fans but the new bandwagoners can eat a turd. I know Coach Pruitt can change shirts, hats, and even put on Orange pants but, he'll never wash that bama off of him. He was born into it, just like I was born into a VFL family. I'm sure he was raised to hate the Vols. I was raised to hate bama. We're about the same age, so he remembers the SEC without an east and west division and Tennessee vs bama was The Game and "The 3rd Saturday in October" really meant something. He remembers our decade of dominance and I remember their winning streaks too.
I know he's a professional football coach and he can probably differentiate between business and fandom. But to be hired by one of your biggest rivals, would have to be very odd and deep down, a little sickening. I don't know how I would feel if I was in his position (other than rich). I know wearing that goofy looking A, would make me feel dirty.

Anyways, I really hope he gets TN back to being a championship caliber team. I'm just worried that if he's successful here and bama calls, he'll be gone in a flash and at the worst possible time (like kiffin). I hope I'm wrong because he seems like a good guy and a heck of a coach.

***** last thought:

If he ever says "running through the T was a childhood dream of his" then watch out Vol Nation, because something's wrong in K-town.

He is a traitor now. Bama won't take him back.

Well, I didn't even watch. I want to see what he produces not how he is behind a podium. We'll get a lot of that.

Coach Pruitt, just doitt 'cause...

Here is the deal..... If he is all in I am all in. I like him.... A lot..... Best thing he said was we will walk up in the line of scrimmage and make the opponent fight for every inch they gain. So tired of seeing ours 5 or 6 yards off the ball.

Been a rough day for accepting a dyed in the wool bama guy. Coach Cut won me hopefully he can also. Everyone has to admit it was nice to see someone talk about being a dominant machine the way we were. It was also great to see coach up there as the AD. It felt like a football school again say what you will about coach but you can see why he was the closer. Here’s to hope and I will hang out in here as I feel like I have found my team in this room. I have been invited up after the first of the year to meet our new coach and I will let you know my thoughts.

i Watched the presser with my bammer husband and halfway through he said he was happy for us and Pruitt. I think he will stay if he’s happy here. Imagine filling little nicky’s Shoes after he retires. Especially in a place like Alabama. Maybe he wants his own legacy.

He’s committed to the kids, he didn’t have any catch phrases, and he wants to work hard. I’ll give him a chance.

I'll look forward to that.

I'll venture to guess we will have a good defense next year, and we WILL score a touchdown in the month of October ...

I missed the press conference! Is it available anywhere? What do we think? I'm still butthurt over the whole thing, so I am a little hesitant to like him.

Have to admit I'm excited again. One thing I noticed that made me pause...was the fact he can go on and on about the defensive side of the ball, lacking, or appeared to be, on the offensive side. Anxious to see who he brings in.

2018 is a throwaway year. We'll spend the whole season ttying to figure out what a 3-4 is. Might get ugly
