Packer's fan here :) Still want to majorly injure Anthony Barr in response to a previous grievance.. Does Mr. Mink agree with me?

I’ll ask him lol. He’s been a Pat’s fan by association with me. We stopped watching NFL this season. You Packers fans are nuts but awesome!

I will give Pruitt a chance..maybe he is a great hire..time will tell...
A lot of people think we made a great hire..
Just hope when he brings the VOLS back he doe not bolt to somewhere else...
VOL FOR LIFE
GBO

The number of people saying he's a great hire compared to Butch is much much higher. Cautious optimism would describe my feelings right now. I'll firm up my stance when I see the assistants. And if we're only paying $4mil for the HC, we better break the bank on coordinators and support staff.

We have a very good roster that needs better conditioning and development. Much better than most rebuild jobs, and certainly better than 4-8. I think everyone will be shocked how well these guys will start playing under the right coaches.

I agree with that..I believe with what we have the right coaching staff could easily win 8 or 9 next year..

My only opinion at this point is that I'm thankful we hired an "SEC" coach. Time will tell, starting with his staff.

I'm cautiously optimistic that given the right staff, we can turn around quite a bit. Listening to Doug Matthews and CPF last weekend talk about all the coaching and personnel mistakes that were made this past season makes me want to believe at least 80% of the problems were on the sidelines, not on the field. And if we can coach up some of the players we have, we could get a lot better quicker than we might think. "Cautiously" being a key word here though.

I've had a little time to come down from the Gruden fiasco and this is where i landed.

"Well, it can't be any worse than it was with Butch". There were some dark times at the end of his rein.

Now, if Pruitt comes in and starts throwing out a bunch of clichés, I'm gonna go off the deep end :rolleyes:

My concern is Pruitt's questionable character. Of course these are all rumors.

- UGA football players say that he was a cancer in the locker room.
- He punched Mark Richt in the face when he was terminated.
- At FSU he was skirt chasing co-eds and co-workers, even though he was engaged.
- Some Bama players are glad that he's out of their locker room.
- Last but not lease he's a Bammer grad.

We were told that the next coach would bleed orange and teach Tennessee history. I just think that when you listen to Fulmer's press conference that it was all lip service. We don't appear to have gotten any of what he was selling, IMO.

It appears that he is more of the same. We'll have another coaching search in 3 years. Hope I'm wrong.

My biggest concern is recruiting. The early signing period was well-intentioned but they completely forgot about coaching changes. This is a complete cluster trying to rebuild in less than 2 weeks, and we've lost half of our elite recruits. Especially when a staff has to be put together. You can't tell a kid "I'll be HC, but unsure who your position coach will be just yet." When he has offers from Clemson, Bama, and Georgia.

The best we can hope is some of these kids wait until Feb to decide.

Maybe Haslam isn't getting as much say as we fear ... MAYBE ... I sure hope like he!! he isn't.

We don't have Gruden....he got what he wanted. People like this do not just go away over one dust up. Do not kid yourselves, our revolt was just that a dust up. They have been embedded for years one week of disgruntled Vol fans did not faze them Haslam is still right where he has always been.....standing on top of daddy's money waiving his d**k at us because we can't stop him.tifwiw he is behind this and as bad as I hate it Peyton is with him.

1) Many many more players are coming out in support of him. Most from Alabama where he was around much much longer.

2) Reasonable worry. Maybe a hot head.

3) You'd be shocked how many coaches skirt chase on campus. It's just the ones that get caught.

4) Haven't seen any of this, just read on a board. Also I'm sure there were some players happy Fulmer left, sad Dooley left, and angry Butch was fired.

5) This one sucks, no way around it.

I saw where u said Gruden folks knew the tattoos u have. I am a tattoo guy so just saying I did not see them.

Oh, I’m covered. Two full sleeves, a thigh, a finger, and my stomach. They’re talking about the stomach tattoo: I have “I’m your huckleberry” with a pistol on my hip.

No doubt he hasn't gone away. But I do hope and pray that other big donors aren't afraid to stand up to him when push comes to shove. And yea, I hate how this is playing out for Peyton. Really hate it.

And the fact we didn't get Gruden does suck, big time. I'm just hoping that maybe, just maybe we did sow a few seeds that will begin to rid the whole AD of issues that have been building for years. It ain't over and it won't be over unless said boosters don't keep the pressure on. I'm just hoping.

Last night was a bummer. I’m disappointed but I’ll give Pruitt a chance. He has to prove it to me though.

As far as Gruden, jury is out there as well. I can’t wait for details to come out so we can see how this all turned out.

I don't think any details are going to come out Mink. It would be great if he acknowledged publicly that he had interest in Tennessee but I'm not going to hold my breath. Hell, half of our own fans didn't believe he had interest. That's a burden we're gonna have to carry ourselves :ermm::ermm:
