No way I see Santos getting redshirted. Kid is physically ready from watching his highlights. Def my favorite recruit Dooley has brought in so far. Might be seeing some WaterBoy hits:crazy:

Look at the NFL, at every position you see a a Tennessee Vol representing that position as the top guy. There is something about Tennessee that pumps out the best player. Best QB,RB,TE,DT, MLB, SS, all from UT. You see all these top recruits going to other schools, then make it to NFL and they are garbage. UT really knows how to coach them up. Dalton is the next big thing and will be the best MLB in the country.

...Or Tennessee had great facilities which helped Fulmer recruit some of the top athletes and then many of them massively underachieved until the NFL. Also, I would argue that you overstating the dominance of UT players in the pros.

I have no doubt that he knows what to do and how to do it. Getting it done is a different matter and remains to be seen. We're rooting for him.

I think this is your first career pseudo compliment of a UT coach BPV. Maybe soon you will actually like one.

I'm fairly certain Propst and King are on the outside looking in...not only now, but next year as well. I think at least 2 of the 3 freshman this year will be entrenched as starters pretty much their whole careers, barring a few games early. They're just far more athletic than what is on the current roster.

With his attitude, huge power numbers, and skillset....if Santos gets a redshirt...we never had LB depth issues to start with. JMO

I agree. The depth chart will not look like this next year. Sorry to say......out with the old - in with the new........ Its life.

Santos will be on the field early and often. Best MLB prospect we have had in many years. This should be the kid that makes everyone forget about Jeff Luc. :birgits_giggle:

Yeah, no way Greg King will beat out A.J. Johnson and Maggitt. Not sure if Lathers will move inside to MLB or A.J. Johnson will, but the starting LB's next year will be Johnson, Maggitt, and Lathers.

It's almost like Dooley knows what he's doing.

I sure as h*ll hope so.... I cannot deal with seeing UT listed as d*mn near last in preseason SEC polls, it makes me want to break something over someone's head.

I am very excited with what I am seeing and hearing though. I really believe the future is ours. Hopefully we can start getting some kids out of Memphis soon. I'm sooooo tired of watching the best talent in my own city choosing Ole Piss, Piss St., Dandy, or the Hags. This is not just a Dooley issue though, it's been this way since Fulmer and I just don't understand how you can even remotely consider ANY one of those schools if you are dedicated to football and eventually want to make the NFL. Vandy, okay I can get wanting an Ivy education, but other than that you are wasting talent on a team that has never and likely will never win its own division, much less the conference or the 'AA. Why serious football players would knowingly put themselves in this type of a position is completely beyond me, especially when you have an up and coming UT team, obviously heading somewhere, with world class facilities, boat loads of fans, big exposure, storied history, and just a few hours further down the road.

I believe Dooley has greatness in store for us, folks. This guy will be the next coach to bring us home another, albeit well overdue, trophy. I don't know why, I just believe the guy has some amazing things in his, thus our, future. He seems like the kind of guy that has a plan for everything, and I like that he has focused on recruiting smart players. What I have heard is he is bringing in smarter, faster, and bigger guys all over the field. All the talent and ability in the world means nothing if you cannot remember the plays and execute. Being able to anticipate your opponent's next move puts your guys in better positions to make plays, eventually that pays off.

I know there has been significant grumbling about this year's recruiting class. I believe we end up easily in the Top 15, which is okay. Although I would prefer we landed the #1 class every year, at least one of the top classes in our conference anyway. In a few years I think we will all look back at this class and think "Wow, were these guys underrated or what?!" I don't know why or what it is, he just seems to have something. We will be back, back on top, feared once more, revered by those that squandered their chance to be a part of it. GO VOLS!

Based on our players' NFL successes, you'd think we would have the #1 recruiting class in the country every freaking year. Especially if Haynesworth hadn't washed out up in Washington. Didn't he sign the largest ever defensive player NFL contract up to that point? I think Manning had the largest offensive side contract as well, is that right? If true, you'd think that alone would be one h*ll of a recruiting draw for UT.

Hopefully Haynesworth rehabs his image and makes up for the disappointment in Washington now that he's with the Pats. Doesn't Mayo play for the Pats as well? Wasn't he the defensive rookie of the year a while back as well? Haven't heard much about him since then.

Lathers is an Outside LB. With a quick strike offense, we'll need them all because the ones will get gassed playing every down.
