Next year

Yes next year, always the "saving grace" for these pathetic underachieving seasons.

I am starting to be "the future is now" fan. As Apollo Creed told Rocky in Rocky 3 "there is no tomorrow".

But yet again this keeps us coming back for more.

The question is, based on what we see today is there any reason to think next year will be any different? It will be Dobbs, the same O line and the same defense.

Would coordinator changes make a huge difference? Or is this what Tennessee football is now, a place traditionally reserved for Kentucky.

I am also starting to think that if we are ever to return to significance we must get a bona fide coaching super star. The "up and coming next big thing" simply will not work in Knoxville.

At the very least the next guy will have to be a guy that has proven his worth as a great coordinator in the SEC or another big time conference.

I don't think it takes 4 years to see if your coach is going to work out. We don't have great lines on either side of the ball and that's part of our problem. The other part is we have a coach that's in over his head here.. Bad combo..

I know you guys are reeling after two straight losses but hope is on the way. You see, as a UGA fan, I lost a lot of hope this weekend against Bama. Two QBs who don't fare well against good defenses. Here's to hoping for a good game with UT with ZERO injuries. But from my point of view, I felt a lot better about this game before this past Saturday. Now, not so much. UT D and crowd may be too much for Grayson.

The good news is, its not just on our side. Va Tech is just as equally bad, but at least they have a good excuse Beamers health is failing most nationally don't know this.

Nah. We lost to OU, Arky, and Fla after being up by 2 touchdowns and let up on OU and Florida midway through 4th. As long as UGA will fight back our team will give it to them.

VT isn't in that much better shape. May be the first college football game played in a nearly empty race track.

I feel soooo much better now. Lol.

Certainly we should beat the Hokies, but my faith is shaken in our ability to close. And God help us if we are favored.

Next Year? OK Let the excuses roll. The worst decision is the one not made. DH will keep CBJ another year regardless because of the Hope factor and as many have mentioned we cannot afford to let Jones go.

The system and process is not what has been advertised.

Changes of coaches and a new system will be just another excuse.

Recruiting this year should be the tell all sign.

3 - 5* recruits and no way to get the ball to them. Even Kiffen and Dooley would have found a way to get the ball in the air. Can't do it now because of injuries, inaccurate QB, and zero separation.

On paper we are world beaters and on the field we cannot execute. Staff? Head Coach not making the right decisions and it appears in the first two losses of the season he is not coaching just reacting with little adjustments.

No. We could have ended up with Muschamp with your methodology. Proven winner or gtfo.

Ahh, there in lies the rub. I think we will be better next year, simply due to another year in the weight room for the younger guys. But there is every reason to believe that the teams around us will be better also. And since I believe they all have better coaching, the extra year likely will benefit them more. So, better team probably will not generate better results. Life in the SEC with a C-USA type coach.

Don't worry neyland stadium is where all sec teams come to heal and get back on track. You'll either dominate us or we'll give you the win. Either way y'all are just fine. Relax.

Ouch .. but respectfully, did you see the pair of QBs we trotted out there against Bama? At home?:no::banghead2:
