i have been a ut fan for 26 years now and have rooted for the vols through the good and the bad.while these past few years have been extremely tough to watch, there will be better days.i firmly believe dooley is heading this team in the right dircetion, although i question some of the assistants around him(which should be dealt with in off-season).we should also keep in mind that our university is still paying on,what 5 or 6 other coaches we bought out of their contracts.we need to keep some stability,if not for just financial reasons,to provide the young kids some hope their will not be a coaching carousel during their college years. go vols!!!

Zook got fired after 3 years.

And Spurrier had been there a long time. If Dooley was taking over for Phil and the program had been in decent shape (neither one happened), then it would be an apples to apples comparison.

You think so....? Who said so? In Your Opinion?

Hell this season is even over with yet and the projection is Hot Seat for 2013. Lets play the games.....of what ifs he beats LSU.....and beats Ark and SC....this year....wow....would that change mines....what if there is an upset and this team 8-5....with a bowl win....you are talking a whole season and a half ahead.....

In Your Opinion....What if he fires his entire staff....In your opinion.....deal with it....I can understand why coaches don't want to come here and coach.....

We don't want give a man with integrity and honor a chance to win.....recruit and develop....Right now this staff has so much to teach it is a fire-hose effect on these freshman and soph...it is hard to teach them everything they need....You normally have upperclassmen that help in the coaching process....esp during the games.....

So a few upset wins and we eliminate land mines all over the world?!! Man, I knew UT was special, but that is AWESOME!!! Hey everyone, we landed on the moon!! :)

Eight Tennessee players were drafted in the last two years. Only Four Shula players were drafted in Saban's first two years. People don't understand how bad the drug use was under Shula. I mean you had a player go to jail for selling drugs in the parking lot after practice. Plus the the probation for the book scandal and suspension of players during Saban's first year.

3 of our best players are out for the year we are still young. If we don't win at least 8 games next year Dooley will go into the 2013 season on the hot seat. No need to panic just yet.

he don't win 8 next year he needs to go. no good coach needs 4 years. i think he signed a 3 yr contract anyway. no way he gets a 4rth year.

Dooley signed a six-year contract, and the buyout is very high. I doubt this program will accept six 6-6 or 7-5 seasons, but he's got a lot more leeway under the circumstances. The wildcard is the fanbase. A drop in season ticket sales and a lot of empty seats in Neyland will cause the trustees to become anxious.

I believe this year will set the program back again. Player transfers is a concern. Some of these young players do not appear to have bought in, and all the injuries plus the month of October is a lot to take. The coaches have to step up bigtime and hold the team together.

Last year it was wait until 2012. Now it is wait until 2013. Next year who knows? We seem to always reset to "Year 0".

and ron zook got caught up in a mess with his players not because he wasn't putting a product on the field it was because he lied to the FL Administration.....

Ummmmmmmm, Zook loss by 31 at home to LSU, got beat by Miss. State, lost twice to TN and lost a 23 point lead to Miami.

It was very much the product he was putting on the field.
