We will likely end up 10-3 with a similar final ranking in both seasons. I’d rather win our bowl game than get blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
While comparing seasons, don’t forget to point out that we also didn’t lose the “inevitable Heupel road stinker” against an inferior team.1 game different but light years different.
2024:
Winning record vs rivals
Undefeated at Neyland
Playoff bid
2025:
Losing record vs rivals
Multiple losses at Neyland for first time in 4 years
No playoff bid

Didn't this UF team beat Texas? This game should not have been a surprise to anyone.
Florida has an interim coach, starting players opting out, and 3 wins.
This game is going exactly how everyone expected once Napier got fired.
Very pleased to end the streak, but this is the most unsurprising performance to anyone.
It cancelled each other out. We lost to one team not named Georgia at home and had no road losses against inferior teams. It was a trade off. That doesn’t make losing the OU game any better as we dominated that game in every aspect except turnovers and the scoreboard. Had we won that game but lost to either Mississippi state or Florida, we would still be 8-3 right now.Great but that isn’t some big accomplishment when you factor in multiple home losses in a season. We could afford the stinker loss on the road as long as we kept the losses in Neyland to 1.
OU is a top 10 team and will finish the season as such as long as they don’t lose at home to LSU. If you’re just going to cherry pick, we also beat an undefeated Mississippi state team and a preseason top 15 Florida both on the road.Tennessee went 4 years without losing at home to a school not named Georgia in Neyland. That included beating high ranked teams. And we didn’t lose to multiple Top 10 teams this year in Neyland. OU wasn’t even Top 15 I believe.
The multiple losses at Neyland this year was absolutely disgusting. Especially considering the offense went brain rot against OU. We should be sitting around 8-10 spot right now with a 9-2 record.
Finishing 9-3 is not a red hot into the offseason with how this season panned out.

Or claiming Oklahoma isn't a top 10 team because of their ranking a month ago. Equally nonsensical.Florida and Miss State are exactly who everyone thought they were…. There has been no surprises that they are where they are currently.
Cherry picking is thinking that a 4-0 MSU and an overrated Napier on the hot seat were actually relevant or quality opponents.

I just did. They’ve had 1 player to opt out since Napier was fired. A freshman. Something is not adding up. Bless your heartThey had multiple guys on defense in their linebacker and lineman.
Additionally, multiple receivers as well. This has all been mentioned for weeks. If you want their names, go look it up.
A simple fact going forward is that a three loss team will never get an at-large CFP bid. No more than two losses is the new bogey.1 game different but light years different.

Tell me how our last 4 coaches have done vs UF.This game should not have been a surprise to anyone.

Tell me how our last 5 coaches have done @ UF.
Then tell me why we should not be surprised. UF’s worst teams have been able to find wins vs a better UT.
This game, we simply took away their will to play and ran the ball down their throats. Just a domination and demeaning way to win.
We ran the ball so well, it took a late game pass to get Aguilar to 200 yards and still put up 31 points without any defensive scores.
That is taking the other team’s soul.
