When North Carolina plays U-Conn this Sat. night we will see the replacement to Coach Fulmer..........no not Butch Davis, but Connecticut coach, Randy Edsall. Here is why: 1) Look at the job that he has done with the Huskies in the few short years of moving to D-1 level. 2) Who is the President of the University of Tennessee? Dr. John Peterson, who was at U-Conn before coming to UT. He is now in his fourth year as president of the University and he`will ultimately trump Fulmer flunkie Mike Hamilton and pull the trigger on a lame duck coach.:whistling:

Why of course. It's so obvious. How could everybody have missed it?

If the powers that be think the outcry from the fans is bad now, wait til they hire some coach that has no business in the SEC. No freakin way that happens. They basically have three options

1) Hire an ex-NFL guy (Kiffin)
2) Hire a big name coordinator (Venables or Sarkisian)
3) Beg and throw incredible amounts of money at a big name college head coach (Butch Davis)

If? U-Conn beats UNC, which is possible, Edsall all of a sudden becomes the Greg Schianno of 2008.

My point of this thread, is not a plug for the current undefeated Connecticut coach, but to suggest that the eventual firing of Fulmer will not come from his cronie (Hamilton) or any rich booster, but from the President of UT, Dr. Peterson.

in all fairness, what has he accomplished to warrant him being considered for an SEC HC job? i know relatively little about the guy, but, what i do know does not impress me. i really hope this isn't the route the powers that be decide to go after the great pumpkin departs.

Well he was provided with mass amounts of talent at the u and then let coker win the nc. He's going to have to prove he can recruit in a less talent rich area and win games. Hell even bunting could win a few games at unc. (They beat auburn in the peach bowl in his first or second year as coach

Laughable.

I don't think that would be a bad choice among several decent possibilities.

However I don't really know where you get the idea that Hamilton is running intereference for CPF. From most credible accounts I've read, Fulmer's power base is with the moneyed boosters. Neither Peterson nor Hamilton can make a move without their stamp of approval.

If you'll recall, Hamilton took a shot across Fulmer's bow last fall and was called on the carpet. He was forced to make a statement of support to avoid creating recruiting problems... which was probably correct. However it did reveal that in a vacuum Hamilton might well be much tougher on Fulmer than he's getting credit for.
