According to the list that's floating around twitter Venables is next on the list.

Why not get Kiffin a man you know won't turn it down?

Edited: for the older gents who needed a extra space between it to understand

False.

Next up Currie's ass needs to be on the street, Fulmer or thereabouts needs to be running the ship (briefly), and we need to keep throwing this FU money at the best coaches in the nation until one bites.

Surely one has an ego enough to want to jump in that juicy, saucy savior role and get paid $7M+ to do it.

I'll take him! He knows what it takes to win a championship, and I love his defense! Hope he brings back Dan Brooks!

Venables would be great but at this point he'll also probably turn down 42 million. Looks like Tee and Kiffin are all that is left. Josh Heuppel the OC at Missouri would prob take it. Not a very desirable job at this point.

NO to Tee Martin
Yes to Mike Leach- Has UT even made him an offer?
Lane Kiffin- Yes- Everyone, especially, Saban and the whole state of Alabama will hate us. But who cares, our goal is to WIN. If we make a few enemies along the way, so what.

At this point I'd rather take a chance at a coordinator for head coach like Venables or Pruitt, could end up like Smart at UGA.

Why Venables when people were freaking over Chad Morris who would be a better hire. Morris is a better OC than Tee Martin and has HC experience and did a pretty remarkable thing in turning around a one win SMU team in 3 years. I understand wanting Tee because he is alumni but hire the best coach, not just an alum. If Tee would come as OC, that would be great with perhaps Steele as the HC. I personally think Kiffin is the best available at this point followed by Mike Houston.

Kevin Steele

Kevin Steele - Wikipedia

One line from the link above is all you need to know about Kevin Steele as a head coach:

"Steele was the head coach at Baylor University from 1999 to 2002. His record was 9–36 (1–31 in the Big 12 conference)."

If this guy's an option, it's time to start collecting mattresses to burn.

I don't like it but he's on the list the local media says.
UT is the weirdest program when it comes to hiring a coach hands down without question Vols hold the top spot.
Bright side we win at something

When did “floating around Twitter” become official?

Some of you are way to uptight
This is a message board/discussion board
No inside source just what Media is saying on twitter which is most likely true.
If I recall that's how the Gundy No story broke last night was on twitter

If you like Venables, you should be seriously considering Morris too. The two of them basically turned Dabo's fortunes around at Clemson.
