I don't see this struggling team getting through the murderer's row coming up. Add a Vandy loss, and this really could be the year?

1) Personally I want Coach Fulmer treated with respect. He has contributed to the storied Vol history over his tenure.

2) Who could seriously step in and rebound the national reputation and the play on the field?

Steve Spurrier - pretty old and lot's of history to overcome.

Chris Peterson...Jim Grobe?

Bill Cowher...has never coached (or recruited) at the college level.

Everybody...let's get serious about this.

Bill Cowher wouldn't have to go out and recruit. He's Bill Cowher. I believe recruits would flock to UT to play for him.

Chris Peterson...Jim Grobe? No Thanks.

Yes to: Brian Kelly, Lane Kiffen, Will Muschamp

Cowher and Gruden would both be a recruits dream. I don't think either one of them would come to UT though, or for that matter the college level. Cower will make alot more money with the Lions than he will the Vols. Just my opinion.

we don't need bill cowher people. we don't NEED cowher. all we have to do is hire his chin. his chin alone can coach our team to victory.

Take it from someone who has 12 years of "Coaching Search" experience.

1. You are better off with Fulmer than a Mike Dubose/Price/Shula type of coach. Trust me!

2. It will get much worse before it gets better.

3. Be patient with the program.

4. It's not the players fault. They think the boos are for them.

5. Money is NO object when the alternative is to keep losing.

Cowher would bring toughness back to Tennessee. That hard edged style is EXACTLY what we need at this time. Bill Cowher would be the perfect fit IMO.
Just imagine him stalking the sideline at Neyland giving his "LET'S GO!!" scowl.
We NEED Cowher.

No, we need someone who can recruit. We need to catch back up with UF,UGA, and BAMA. Cower hasn't ever recruited anyone. And lets be honest, even if we offered him the job he wouldn't come anyway.

The thought that Bill Cowher would have to recruit is crazy. Recruits would flock to Knoxville. "He won a Super Bowl" would be all they had to know.
Just imagine the assistants he could get.
Money talks, i think Hammy has had enough of Phil and the gang. Alabama set the bar so to speak about getting the coach that you want. NO ONE here thought Bama would get Saban either but they did.

But what could UT possibly have to offer him? Money? No. There would be 5 pro teams that would outbid UT in their first offer.

I personally don't think he will come here but for you to say Bill Cowher can't recruit is utterly ridiculous. He's a 2 time Super Bowl Championship coach. Recruits would fall over themselves to play for him. Look at what Wies has done in recruiting.
