I would like to see Cutcliffe talked into becoming the head coach and Tee serve as OC for about 2 or 3 years and then Cutcliffe can retire and Tee take over.

Not even close to the same thing mr vol. leach sued for his money because he had solid legal footing that the James thing was a complete fabrication. He was deposed under oath and penalty of perjury that he did not what was alleged in the termination of his contract. Suit was thrown out of Tex Supreme Court due to sovereign immunity clause of state constitution which says and try to keep up “ u can’t sue the state goverment for monetary damages” (quotes are mine paraphrasing.) In this case the state is a state university. He had facts to support his contention he didn’t do what Craig James alleged and Tex tech hid behind sovereign immunity to keep from being made fools of and force them to pay for termination of his contract without cause.
Schiano has yet to sue or to testify under oath that he had no knowledge of what mcreary (sp) alleged and maybe during the vetting process he could have. I can tell u all day long that I didn’t cheat on my wife but until you are deposed it changes the dynamic( see bill Clinton).
Completely different level of taint if u will. Maybe Beverly should have said we don’t want a guy that sues his employer because he got cheated fair enough but then I guess butch wouldn’t get his money if we put him under oath about that players helmet that jumped up and struck another player lol

I don't think Frost is ready for Nebraska, he needs to go to Tennessee 1st. Tee however is ready for the Nebraska job not Tennessee, they can switch in a few years when there both ready for each other's job.

IMO it will be Cutcliffe or Steele with Tee as the 3rd choice.

I like the guy but are we all forgetting how bad Fulmer was when it came to hiring/firing assistant coaches? One of the things he and Butch had in common was not hiring people he didn't know (DeBord, Hoke) and when he did in the case of Fulmer see (Dave Clawson) he never really would take the reigns of and let him do what he was hired to do. (Also see Mike Bajakian, Larry Scott when it came to Butch's Offensive Coordinators the only thing they or DeBord had in common was they called Butch's plays not there own offensive system)

Call me old fashion but I just don't trust a coach that hasn't played the game(butch jones, Mike leach) I don't care if they've had success or not. My Granny told me a long time ago, never trust a man that won't sit down and have a drink with you. You tend to get more out of a coach who played and even more when the Coach attended the institution..ie(Fulmer, Harbaugh, Gundy, Nutt, Martin, Frost.

Agreed on Kevin Steele, no way Shaw is a candidate. Why in the heck would he leave his no pressure job in beautiful SF Bay Area for Tennessee?

I voted who is should be and Tee Martin is not who is should be.

I could see Fulmer hiring him and then fighting to keep him while he struggles - but not for the right reason.

I truly hope he Fulmer puts what is best for UT and hires an experienced coach. If he wants to bring in Martin as OC fine.

Done deal Frost to the Huskers. I love Tee, but I'm afraid he is simply not experienced enough to do the rebuild heeded here, and that he will either burn out or be fired due to lack of success in less than 5 years. I would love to see him come here as OC and HC in waiting... with a solid, experienced coach... perhaps Miles (I said PERHAPS Miles). That would help settle the fan base and help tremendously with recruiting.

Just based on a post earlier that said these were the candidates.

Long shot he comes here IMO. But if he'd be interested, call him tonight.

I think it's a legit concern. While you can argue that quickly taking SAT-like questions doesn't have direct correlation to football, generally successful coaches like Belichick, Saban, etc are intelligent. If his 11 out of 50 score (which translates to the bottom 8th percentile according to the Wonderlic site) points to Tee being not particularly bright, then that is a legit concern. Don't know the answer to this question, but I do think it is fair to think about.

The bigger question should be if Tee had not played at UT, how high up on our list would he be? Is he being overvalued because of nostalgia, or is he legit like Nebraska's Scott Frost? Don't know that answer either.
