Chris Low still doesn’t get it. His comment that the fans just want us us to hire somebody infers that we just want anyone we can get. He’s clueless if he thinks that.

You might think he is clueless, but he is Phil’s donut buddy. I would say that there is something to this story. But I hope not.

Of the list I'd rather have Gruden, or Leach. If we can't get those, we don't need any of the others

If he gets Steele and Currie had Leach then something is just not right. Steele is much much farther down the list than Leach.

NO WAY Leach is hired while UT takes the "high morals" road pertaining to the SchiaNO debacle. For those who don't know, Leach locked Adam James (son of ESPN analysis Craig James) in a closet while at Texas Tech. No way can UT hire anyone associated with ANY SCANDAL especially using "high morals" as the out on SchiaNO. Forget Leach!

Go listen to Fulmer's statements!!

Like I said, it is a touchy subject, and I understand your point completely. I definitely do not mean anything personal against Tee, and really hope I’m not coming across as saying that he’s not an intelligent guy. I’m just being honest and saying that it’s one of those things that is always somewhat in the back of my mind when thinking about Tee as head coach, at least at this point in his career and coming into this crazy situation right now at UT. Maybe that’s not fair on my part for even thinking about it, but I’m just being honest that it does concern me a little.

An 11 on the Wonderlic should be a concern. Pointing out that someone does not have a high iq is not racist unless you deny that Josh Dobbs has a high iq.

The Adam James situation is total BS cooked up by his daddy who used his ESPN platform to lobby against a coach who wasn’t giving his kid enough playing time. Everyone knew that in 2009, and everyone still knows it.

Just like SchiaNO was hear-say. It don't matter if you are guilty or not, Leach is "tainted" just like SchiaNO. No hiring of Leach here.

Based on what I have read recently regarding the events since Butch was fired, here is who I think will be considered for the next head coach and who will not:

Kiffin: younger fans love him because he is a good coach and a blast to follow on Twitter but a lot of big Boosters would never support his return.

Leach: how can UT fire a guy that had a deal with Leach and then Fulmer hire him? Nightmare PR

Shaw: deserves a look. Rumors are that Charles Davis could get UT an interview.

Sumlin: I think he would consider the Vols if FSU doesn’t offer.

Brohm: Would be a good idea to reapproach him. Report that he has a clause in contract that he would leave for UT.

Morris: since Fisher went to TAMU, he may have more interest now. If he would bring in a few former Vols on staff, would be a good hire. Turned a one win SMU team around.

Tee: deserves an interview. Not sure he is ready to be the HC but maybe with an experienced staff, could work out.

Cutcliffe: he may reconsider if Phil makes the call.

Steele: poor record as HC but a VFL and good DC.

Miles: definitely interested in UT.

Strong: was never really accepted by Boosters at Texas.

Petersen: Could Fulmer swing for the fences?

Gruden: I know, I know. There is a lot of smoke about Gruden from numerous reports and posts on VolNation. As in life, Never say Never to Nothing.

Honestly, the more I see of Frost, the more determined I'd be to really put his love for Nebraska to the test. I'd make him turn down a lot of money to wear husker red. He just strikes me as the perfect fit for UT and would most likely be our coach for the next decade at least.

Having said that I hope we go back to Peterson, Patterson and Fuente and get a firm no up to the price we can reasonably afford to pay...which I assume would be in the 7-8 mil range. Just hoping against hope that knowing Fulmer is the AD might change some minds about Knoxville.

And again having said all that....I fully expect UT to trot out Doeren or Morris Sunday.

USC is hoping we take Tee. I heard Tee interviewed at Ga So, and didn't get a call back. Les...no one wants Les, ask yourself why. Again we could have Leach today. I know he seems a odd fit, but we'll be wishing we'd hired him after the first few games next year. Kiffin is trolling. Hopefully Fulmer has something lined up. It makes logical sense that if he's willing to stick his neck out as the AD that he's got something better than Tee, Les, or Steele.

I think Phil would like to have Les Miles running things with Tee as a HC in-waiting. Les is old, so that might be something Tee would go for.

Sorry, but I'm still a bit confused.

Out of all the possible canidates, Mike Leach was probably the best of the bunch. Leach sent over the agreement papers to be the next HC.......but the brass fires him......so....why fire him when he already agreed upon being the next HC? and does that mean the brass doesn't want Leach at all?

Head coaching records

Jon Gruden (NFL) 95/81
Les Miles 141/55
Tee Martin 0/0
David Cutcliffe 102/96
Kevin Steele 9/36
Jeff Brohm 36/16
Mike Leach 122/80

Miles has lost more games that half the people on that list...don't want

Yes we have entered back into the good ole boy network. Prepare to be underwhelmed.

Internet sources indicates Steve Spurrier come as HC if he can bring in Corso as OC, Herbstriet as QB coach, D. Howard as DBs coach, Booger for D-Line, Pollock as DC, Tebow as inspirational coach and C.Barkley to just say, dats terrabull..........
