Either of:

Charles Mosley- supposedly doing something soon

Cory Thomas- UT has led for a while now. I think he's waiting for the green light. In fact, he may even be a silent. If the staff gives him the go ahead, he's easily able to bite.

Jakob Johnson- Uzzi on VQ says we are probably out in front... And with Thig leading the charge here, I like our chances.

We signed 0 OL in 2012 and only pulled in 3 guys in last year's class.

We need 5 guys this class.

Agreed. And, UT needs all of the DL, LBs, DBs, and RBs they can get.

So, should they get commits from several of the remaining 6 or so I suspect they are heavily recruiting for these positions, room will have to be made somewhere. If not an existing OL in exchange for another OL, more recruits from another position would have to be sacrificed.

Well Blair will now fall into the "2012" class as would Gennesy if we can land him. I don't know if Sharpe is a realistic starter as a freshman anywhere in the SEC. Maybe someone else has an opinion on that but I think our best case is to take Gennesy if he wants in and if Mahoney thinks he's a fit. Our prospects for 2015 may come into play a bit. Assuming we feel good about Richmond, how does that factor in going forward? How soon would he be able to see the field? I'm not really high on any lineman, either side, being in the 2 deep on an SEC roster until their 3rd year. Top talent might be worth a shot their second year but a first year is extremely rare. I sort of don't think we take more than 4 OL this year and I think 3 next year and in 2016 whatever we take might include one JUCO depending on how Sanders, Brown, et. al. are developing. My limit on 4 is because we have needs everywhere and we can't rebuild Rome in one class. We need a longer term strategy. jmo.

Again, I think we are short everywhere right now so it's somewhat of a balancing act regarding priorities. Defensive line is critical. I actually think we're okay at LB if we can hold on or improve what we have. The same is true with the secondary, but we'll need strong 2015 classes for both position groups to fill out a truly competitive SEC 2-deep. If we don't have a first rate DL all across the board with talented and developed depth any weakness in our LBs or DBs will be exposed. We have to build our DL as a number one priority in my view. Any "extra" spots we may have should, I think, be dedicatef to maximizing our opportunity to have a first rate DL.

Give us Williams or Scott on top of that and I'm good to go. I don't need Malone, Adoree Jackson, or Garrett (provided we can hold on to Bryant). Obviously I'd take all 3 of those guys and it would be an incredible coup but if we don't get them I'm good to go with who we have. Just need a RB, one more OL (preferably a JUCO), a lot of help on the DL (preferably a couple JUCOs included) and that's it. jmo.

As far as our OL goes, assuming we get my remaining JUCO, Pair and Kerby are our 6th and 7th men next year. Sander's needs to at least be the 8th. Lawson would have had all 3 for 2 years. I'm optimistic.

Isn't it great though that Florida is not going bowling. No way they win at South Carolina or beat FSU.

Can't stand Florida but I really couldn't care less. Guess it's good. Would feel much better if we had given them one of their losses. Plus, I'm too focused on where UTs program is right now and whether or not we can beat, gulp, Vandy and somehow go to a bowl ourselves.

Stopped in at my local ATT store sporting my Big Orange colors and was speaking to the mother of Jvonte Herrod RB. She said UT coaches would be visiting Jvonte this week and was being offered and would accept. Cant find anything on Volnation about his recruitment, I found this on google.

Interesting. J'vonte is a 2-star on Rivals with offers from Appalachian State, Minnesota, Utah State and W. KY. Must have been flying under the radar and having a breakout year.

Naaaah, that was probably Barb Dooley you were talking to. Her son was relentless recruiting against those schools.
