What do you consider an early exit in the NCAA?I agree 100%. This team is simply bad offensively. Yes... I said it... BAD offensively. We got fooled early on with the weak schedule. From now on, we should all wait to make season predictions, etc until SEC play starts. We'll make the tourney and exit early. In other words, a typical UT basketball season.

Simple, straightforward question
I'm not him, but I'll answer. An early exit is anything short of the Sweet 16.
In my opinion, using a golf analogy for our program, making the Sweet 16 should be considered shooting par. Making the Elite Eight is a birdie and losing 1st or 2nd round is a bogey. Making the Final Four would be an eagle. Not making the tournament at all is a double bogey or worse and should be considered unacceptable.
fyp.... in the games we lost we lost because our shooting went AWOL. Our defense has been fine all season with the exception of the Vandy game.. Bad shooting nights can make it look like your defense failed. The way we are SHOOTING right now, which of those 6 does anyone think we have a better than 50% chance of winning? Every one of those teams can absolutely beat us. Don't think we lose all 6 but I do think any of those 6 teams can beat us, even on our floor.
Not a chance. Unrealistic expectations....in every sport...every season...is just what we do here. Keep posting like that and you're gonna get slapped with a nega/gloom and doomer label. No worries though. You're always welcome on the dark side. Plenty of room.I agree 100%. This team is simply bad offensively. Yes... I said it... BAD offensively. Short bench got us. As the minutes pile up it takes a toll. Impacts the shots and the defense. Every team sees it at some point. For us, however, there's no one to turn to off the bench. Barnes made his bed on this one. Maybe we get our second win and it leads to a strong finish....or maybe we continue a fade and make an early exit in the tournament? Think most folks know what I'm expecting. What's worse than losing to KY at home.....is losing to them with a bad defense to boot.
Short bench? Kentucky was without their #1 and #2 point guards and #1 forward. They actually had their 7’ center running point. You had a depleted Kentucky team on your home floor….there is no excuse.Short bench got us. As the minutes pile up it takes a toll. Impacts the shots and the defense. Just curious, who was their #2 PG?Short bench? Kentucky was without their #1 and #2 point guards and #1 forward. They actually had their 7’ center running point. You had a depleted Kentucky team on your home floor….there is no excuse.
Not sure that golf analogy works, but I do agree anything less than a Sweet 16 is an early exit.
You can make an eagle in a round and shoot 75. That score isn't going to move you on to the next round
He said "typical", but the last two years have seen a S16 and EE, plus a SEC reg season championship
I assume the poster was referring to Kerr Kriisa who has been out since he injured his foot during the Gonzaga game.Just curious, who was their #2 PG?
Butler was out but every significant guard on their team played. The interesting thing is that it sometimes put ZZ on Robinson, and that is a huge height differential.
I love good defense, but you have to have scorers as well. If we can’t get shooters to step up we’re not going to go very far. It’s obvious Barnes is going to have to find some shooters to go with our defense in the future.
Ok, whatever you say. I find this analogy even funnier, but it's coolI think it's a pretty m good analogy. He's wasn't necessarily talking about a whole game of golf, but the outcome from playing a single hole/ with a high Par.
Not making tournament- Find a new hobby besides golf (Triple Bogey)
Just Making 64- Double Bogey
Making it to 32- Bogey
Making it to 16- Par
Winning Sweet 16- Birdie
Winning Elite 8 -Double Birdie
Winning final 4- Eagle
Winning Tournament- Double Eagle ( Would probably feel like a hole in one on a lesser Par)
