Still amazing to hear from "fans" who evidently know very little about football. You know the ones; a win is a win and a loss is a loss. Sorry, but getting beat by 30+ points isn't the same as losing in the final seconds. One team is at a talent level capable of winning championships and the other is lucky if they get to go to a bowl game. Four games into a season isn't enough time to know where everyone is at. What if 9 weeks from now, Oklahoma is 12-1 and going to the playoff? What if Florida wins the east? What if the Vols end up 9-4 after a bowl win? Isn't this what most thought a couple of months ago? Yes, I want wins to come just like the next fan. But, before you have lots of wins, you need the talent and this coach you are so quick to want to get rid of is one class away. Next, you need "senior" leadership. I know, no one wants to hear this either, but it's true none the less. Have you missed any players from the last three years? There is a reason. Finally, the final thing you need is great on field coaching. I'm not going to judge this coaching staff to the level I would Saban and Meyer until next year, when they have the other two ingredients. So, if you really want Tennessee football to start winning championships soon, shut up and do your day job a little better. News flash: You're not a football coach or an AD.

News flash...neither is hart. We all have one less coaching hire than him on our resume...and at least we're all tn fans. Hart can't say that! He should be fired before Butch

I think you should go familiarize yourself with what Saban and Meyer each did in years 2 and 3 of their respective programs.

One positive that most are ignoring is that Butch has coached and rebuilt the program well enough that we were in commanding position to beat two "brand name" programs in the fourth quarter. One of them is down, but one arguably, as you point out, could still be a playoff team.

The losses were very frustrating, and, particularly the Florida game, should never have happened.

But if our only problem is learning to put away opponents we have dominating leads on late in the game, then maybe that's not too much of an improvement to expect from the coaching staff and players.

The season is not over yet. I am as concerned by any with the last two games, but at least Butch and this staff put the team in position to win. Dooley would have been down two scores to either of these programs, I don't care how bad Florida is.

There must be improvement. But maybe not as much as some seem to think. To write off Butch now, completely, is insipid. Yet we are at a point where there should be pressure on him. His seat should be warming up after these last two games.

And believe me, there will be and is! How he responds is the key to the future of our program.

Great coaching on the field overcomes shortcomings like lack of experience. I would settle for average coaching on the field. With average coaching, we are 4-0. Even before the game started, when the two coaches were interviewed, the FL coach was loose and Butch was obviously up tight. He concentrated so much on not losing that he could not effectively respond to changing conditions. Just like FL last year and OK this year, in a tight game he chokes. It has to be obvious to the players.

After reading I have decided not to vote in the next election. Since I am not a politician I'm just going to sit back, bite my tongue, and withhold my opinions. ......I've not made up my mind either way on Jones but post is just dumb, and I can say that since I am officially a poster.

Perhaps you should. Saban's tenure wasn't that great at Michigan State. Neither was it in Miami. While his build at Alabama was quicker, only Florida had a great team during those years. As for Meyer, he always inherited teams with the first two ingredients. Don't believe me, do your research.

I was referring to the SEC programs they inherited, genius.

Granted, Dooley left our program in worse shape than with Bama or Florida when those guys took over. But if you still think Butch has the potential to coach like Meyer or Saban after watching him for the last 3 seasons, then I guess there's no point talking to you.

So we should judge Butch by his time at Central Michigan or by the strength of the east since he started?????

Really? ?? I'm going to have a talk with my agent about this. I'm also not a mechanic but I can change my brakes and oil. I'm not a doctor either, however I know when I have a cold. the point is, you don't have to receive a paycheck to be knowledgeable in certain things.and who are you to presume what anyone's football knowledge is?

Ill be thinking that I'm not the a.d. And I'm glad when Hart and the handful of real vol fans are in the stadium by themselves. You will have plenty of leg room.
