Newport Beach/Orange County CA Vols: Tennessee/Florida Game at Rudy's

For those in or around the Orange County/Newport Beach area, we will be watching the Tennessee/Florida game Saturday at Rudy's in Newport Beach on the Balboa Peninsula. There are official Alumni gatherings in both San Diego and Los Angeles but for those that don't want to make the 1-1.5 hr drive either way, feel free to join us by the beach.

Where is the L.A. Get together?

Years ago a bunch of us used to meet at a bar on Venice Beach Blvd in Mar Vista. It was closed down for a new fire station and I lost track, heard Samuel L Jackson intended to show up but he didnt make it while I was living in Culver City.

Sounds like a good time. Great to see, would love to make one of these in the future and Rudy's is a cool spot. Keep posting for the rest of the season. If anyone is ever up in Santa Barbara would be great to enjoy the game with fellow VFL's.

Where is the L.A. Get together?

The L.A. group meets at Q's Billiards on Wilshire. They have a great group and their own room decorated in UT stuff. I've been a couple of times and they usually have a great turnout. Just a little too far of a drive for some to make from the OC so we want to start watching games here locally.

No I don't see any official OC alumni group listed on the UTAA website. The LA group is called the SoCal Alumni group so that's the closet to Orange County. We could start one up though.......
