New Yorker: Fox had, but killed, Stormy Daniels story in October 2016; Trump intervened in AT&T merger

I don't really see anyone saying that Trump is innocent anymore. It's more of I don't think you can prove it.
You're not wrong. It's much like what happened with HRC. The left stopped caring about what she did and fell on that same "you can't prove it" sword. Then they progressed to her being a victim of right wing propaganda. So you probably have claims of left wing propaganda to look forward to.

Truthfully, who knows if Trump is guilty or the victim of false allegations? Your political leanings have you hoping for guilt, but as a lawyer, you know such accusations need to be proven. People have stopped arguing he's innocent simply because the left has proven they are unwilling to believe that. So now it's all about proving he's guilty.

LOL. Move the goal posts much?
I haven't moved anything I asked a simple question.

The Republicans overreached on that subject with the impeachment BS.. I actually think it helped him get reelected. Same thing is going to happen in 2020. Everybody is tired of it.

I agree that everyone is tired of it. And I would agree that impeaching him over the Stormy Daniels or playboy things would be ineffective, just as it was with Clinton.

If that is where it ends, the Dems should just run on their own merits and in terms of negative ads just play video of Trump on AF1 denying knowing where the money came from, then play the audio of Trump telling Cohen how to pay them off. (LOL, what an idiot!)

If Trump is going to be impeached, it is going to be for some kind of serious Russian compromise issue. Be it direct help, financial connections that they are taking advantage of, Kushner's security clearance, something like that. (Note: this does not mean that the SDNY cannot take some sort of action related to tax fraud or insurance or bank fraud).

Make the recent tax cuts for the wealthiest temporary, but the tax cuts for the middle class permanent. More middle class tax breaks, paid for by rollback of exemptions to the wealthiest and corporations that do not re-invest their considerable windfalls last time around.

Incremental broadening of Medicare.

Promote non-fossil fuel research.

Infrastructure.

Re-unite with Europe and reaffirm commitments there.

So in other words 4 more years of Trump

How would Kushners security clearance be impeachable? My understanding is that a President can give whoever he wants top level clearance.

My understanding too. Not impeachable. Just exceedingly dumb, by which I mean, par for the course with Trump

Sounds like a winning platform to me.

Going up against "still building that wall" "we're still going to lock her up" "still draining that swamp" "still MAGA".
I'm guessing Trump's popularity may dip as we approach April 15th and people get a close up look at just what their "tax cut" actually looks like.
Probably a little economic down turn to coincide.

All original classification authority sits with the office of the President. His cabinet members derive classification authority from him. Then delegates from the cabinet members... etc.

So yes the president has the power to decide who and when can see what and where at anytime they so chose.

You do realize tax refund levels now match the year prior to the tax cuts right? Refunds the same and take homes higher seems like a good strategy.

Then why didn't Trump just give him clearance from the start? Why just not publicly say "I'm giving him clearance" instead of forcing subordinates to grant him clearance as if he received it through the normal channels? We all know the answers.

Please show me where it’s illegal for him to give Kushner that clearance. Should be easy for you to find. Lies do not equal criminal activity. No matter how much you want them to. I am not defending it. I asked a question. Clearwater answered and then said he thought it was legal but dumb. Seems like a fair point of view to me.

It's not. My question was why did he not clear Kushner on day one and avoid all of the embarrassment?

www.foxbusiness.com/personal-finance/average-tax-refunds-up-19-now-in-line-with-2018-levels-irs-says

The overall amount the IRS has paid in refunds is now only down about 3.6 percent. The total number of refund checks doled out is down 4.8 percent.

So far this year more than 47 million returns have been processed, a decline of more than 4 percent when compared with the same period last year. More than 3 percent fewer returns have been received by the agency.

Throughout the early weeks of this year’s tax season, many payers voiced frustrations over smaller or non-existent refunds – with some even owing the agency for the first time.

“The size of someone’s refund is a separate issue from whether their taxes have increased or decreased,” the department noted in a statement on Thursday. “Most people are benefiting from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by receiving larger paychecks throughout the year, instead of tax refunds that simply result from people overpaying the government throughout the year.”

Overall, Treasury officials said they expect fewer Americans to get refunds this year when compared with last year. However, they said most Americans are still expected to see a net tax benefit as a result of the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
