New Vols Traditions w/Kiffin Era??

This is more of a pet peeve of mine actually, how about starting the tradition of NOT playing the opposing team's fight song right before we run through the T. I understand the whole argument that we are trying to be courteous or whatever, but if they wanted to hear there fight song they should have decided to bring their band. My other point is why would we want to get their fans excited and possibly their team as well? There isn't a better sight in Neyland than seeing their fans sitting on their hands all game. I'm sure most won't agree with this but its JMHO. :)

Oh yeah, and some black in the uni's would be awesome! Why hasn't anyone started a thread about this new concept yet? How's that for a 100th post?

winning at home. being known for our stacked depth chart. i'd personally like to see something pre-game, or a cannon to go along with the Davey Crockett theme...

Bring back the TN walking horse. Just picture the T is formed, at the top of the T is Davy on the horse, he fires his gun and the team takes the field.

You must not be too familiar with the Tennessee walking horse...

I want them to stop playing to the level of competition and win the games when they are suppose to win...

Let's bring back WR U, and call me crazy but I enjoyed the whole Smokey howling thing they did there for a while.

That would be very cool, but have him lead them onto the field. Just hope it is not the Alamo...:salute:

I would like to see a total new alternative uniform. These kids watch the NBA and NFL and they all have an alternate uniform. Orange Pants, Black Jersey, Orange Helmet with a white T. That would be SWEEET.

I liked that too. The crowd would be going insane because of the TD, then the players would calmly shake hands like at a board meeting. Nice contrast.

Have an orange accent on the black jersey, an orange stripe. I think that it would help with recruits.

It used to be. When we beat Florida in '90, I had really low seats right behind the Florida bench. A couple of years later (I can't remember exactly) they moved the Vols in front of the students. I think it may have something to do with the opposing team being abused by the student section.

Edit: At least I would have sworn to this...

As I recall, it was the result of an SEC rule after the 91 or 93 Florida game. The visiting team's bench could not be directly in front of the student section (due to Florida's behavior). Some schools moved the student section, some swapped sides for the teams.

Tradition is great..........but let's not be like Bama. Let's start new traditions periodically.

To go along with uni changes, I wouldn't mind ( no black or weird alternate ones) something like the New York Jets have, of course with a color change. Let me see if I can find it.

Something like that, but have white pants at home and orange on the road.

It isn't anything too drastic but changes it up a little bit...

Someone on this board suggested putting "I will give my all for Tennessee" signs above every section entrance of Neyland, for fans to slap before they go in. I thought that was really clever.

I dont like the idea of the walking horse going through the T. Thats way too many people and animals. It would be a horse, two smokeys (real and human), davy, cheerleaders, team, coaches...too much commotion, IMO.

We need more crowd participation. No one, but students and some Alum sing the alma mater, it needs to be loudly sung. Same with reciting the Maxims before games.

Maybe CLK and co. is the shot in the arm and the kick in the butt we need to revive Neyland. Basically, my new tradition is to bring back the old tradition of a feared Neyland stadium.
