"New" UT fans....

I am a new fan.

You may look at my user name and ask.....huh? Well, I am OFFICIALLY a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech - Class of '88.

I am a UT fan for two reasons: the most obvious is that I root for UT once a year when they play the Dawgs. The second is because my niece's boyfriend is the back up punter to Colquitt....Chad Cunningham. Ya'll need to do your homework because he's good. I saw him kick a 72yd punt and a 49yd field goal in one game in HS. He also kicked off and played QB. If Colquitt can't kick, Chad is your man. He is listed as a punter on the UT roster, and that is his main job, but he can put the ball in the endzone on kickoffs. He actually had a higher punting average in the Spring scrimmage than Colquitt.

This him?

My friend took me to last year's CAL game.

Plus I'm 95% going there. In state, 3.8 GPA, 32 ACT. I'm pretty sure I'll get in easily.

Back in high school I wasn't a big college football fan period, in fact the first collegiate game I attended was an FSU game (as my family lived in fla at the time) but then as fate would have it, the old man's job moved him to Tenn. and I applied to schools there to attend college it was down to Memphis, and UT and after visiting the campuses it was no contest 5 years later, I'm an SEC college football addict, a Gator-Hater and living in the depths of gator country but still sporting the only shade of orange that matters (and there ain't no blue to go with my orange!)

Even my wife (who went to some cheesy school in murfreesboro) is wearing more orange than blue these days :)

After being in Florida for twenty years the orange and blue starts making a person alittle sick at the stomach...:pukeb:

pretty sure they'll give you a full ride...they should anyway. had a buddy with the same gpa and a 27 on the act and got an almost full ride...that was at mizzou but not too much of an academic difference there.

I knew Ainge in HS and started following then... I watched CFB before, and passively rooted for Purdue, Ohio State, Texas and Oregon State. But I got hooked when I started watching Tennessee. I think the image of the crowd captivates me.

Normally it just takes one game at Neyland to become a confirmed member of the Big Orange crazy train!! Welcome aboard and proudly wear the Orange!!!

My husband used to be a Miami Hurricanes fan. He used to be a Spurrier fan too..not the gators. He just liked Spurrier for some weird reason. I guess that's because he grew up in Connecticut where there really was no college football.
He said he always liked the Vols too, but after his first game at Neyland Stadium, he was hooked! Now he is a die hard Vols fan! :yahoo:

Ain't that the truth. I had a friend in highschool who didn't give a rat's a** about football his whole life...

He came to a game at Neyland with me while I was a student there and now he is one of the biggest fans you'll meet
