Random post....

but I'm just wondering if there are any "newer" UT fans out there. I understand that most of you are probably fans who have beed diehard since birth ( :) ), but are any of you out there fans who have caught the orange fever more recently?

I'm a "growing" fan....used to be a big fan back in middle school (about 18 years ago)....but am just recently realizing how much I love going to the games (which I do at least once a year normally), how much I love the devoted fans, and how it's great to have a team "close to home"....

Anybody out there in the same boat as me....a "newer" fan?

Just wondering! (And to the rest of you....here's to helping me become a superfan like the rest of you! haha)

welcome! welcome! welcome, breezybird! I can't say I fall into the "newer fan" category, but let me say you have chosen a fine program with a fine tradition for whom to cheer and follow. There is no better fan than a fan of Orange, I dare proclaim... am I on track here, Vol fans?

Welcome to the Nation, grasshopper, and many happy returns!

I hope you remain a fan of the vols, even if you don't make it! But hopefully that won't be an issue and you will get in.

You have certainly picked a good school to follow. Are you a basketball fan too or just football? well either way, GO VOLS!

I am a new fan.

You may look at my user name and ask.....huh? Well, I am OFFICIALLY a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech - Class of '88.

I am a UT fan for two reasons: the most obvious is that I root for UT once a year when they play the Dawgs. The second is because my niece's boyfriend is the back up punter to Colquitt....Chad Cunningham. Ya'll need to do your homework because he's good. I saw him kick a 72yd punt and a 49yd field goal in one game in HS. He also kicked off and played QB. If Colquitt can't kick, Chad is your man. He is listed as a punter on the UT roster, and that is his main job, but he can put the ball in the endzone on kickoffs. He actually had a higher punting average in the Spring scrimmage than Colquitt.

I hope he's both.

He is actually a "she"....and she's been an AVID Duke basketball fan her entire life (don't shoot me!), but does cheer for the Vols if there is no conflicting interest, which there rarely, if ever, is... ;)

to what would you attribute your turn onto Volunteer boulevard, bird?

Going the games the past few years, a number of friends who are fans and have "rubbed" off on me, living close by, respecting the team's program, and the general atmosphere of the game....and the fans. :)

Overall, I think I've been a closet fan for years and have suddenly decided to give it a shot! :)
