New Uniforms confirmed

All I'm getting at is that it says many wouldn't go through with getting that patent, but I would have no qualms assuming that Nike would get a patent on just about anything they create

As someone that has been in that industry for 25 years. It is not done by any of the uni manufacturers. They all copy each other.

So there was no patent on this font?

You could get those numbers on a jersey made by several other companies. You could not use the Timberwolves logo with them, but the actual number font with say Knox Catholic on the jersey, you can.

Being a font that Nike uses does not mean that no one else can't use it. That letter style may be "known" as a Nike font, but it is not "owned" by them. Russell, Sports Bell, Rawlings, Wilson, Delong, or any other uni maker else can use it.

Nike does own fonts. Oregon's for example.

The uniforms won't look any better until we dump the black cleats with black socks Halloweenish crap. Johnny Majors knew how to make the uniforms look sharp during his tenure. Since we are fielding a slower team than our major rivals have, let's at least appear to be faster than we really are with white shoes, maybe a little orange on the shoes, and white socks. I'm sure that Dooley reads fans suggestions on uniforms.

wrong....Oregon is special, but not that special, sorry
Nike is GOD to you, but sorry, you are wrong
The font may be named after Nike or Oregon, but I could make a set of jerseys with the exact same numbers on them, and so can any other company, and not have to pay Nike one dime.

Nike's God to me, because Nike specifically created Oregons font for the university(it's owned by the University and Nike), and titled it "Bellotti Bold"?

And the Oregon isn't the only university that co-owns a font created by Nike.

are you serious? this stuff is so freakishly unimportant.

This just in, AD Doug Dickey considering switch from Nike to new entrant Adidas. Per Hyams.

Nebraska and Notre Dame are considering a contract as well.

what the hell good is checkboard on the inside of the collar?

Subtle, unlike the rest of the "IAMHilfiger" labelers. The swoosh is the mark of the slavers. :p

I like it...even though I thought that a small checkerboard at the back of the neck or the edge of the sleeve would be cool.

Different material, absorbs sweat better, like wearing an Under Armour-type shirt instead of a cotton tee. It makes a difference.

Tighter fabric means players won't be pulled down or held by their jerseys.

As someone mentioned above, these are the exact jerseys that the Giants have been testing out for adidas/Reebok the last two seasons. Notre Dame has been wearing them all season, took some time to get the orange right for us.

There are new pants made from the new materials as well. They look the same, upgrades are in the feel for the players.

Adidas totally kicks Under Armour's butt with no-sweat stuff. I have tried ALL (baselayer and all) of them for golf...Adidas has no comparison. I sweat like a.....cold beer on a hot day in early September at a tailgate right across from Neyland. :)
