New Uniform Combo

Not trying to police anything. Just pointing out you were yelling fire in a crowded movie house, and there wasn't a hint of smoke.

Would I say this was the dumbest thing posted? Well there has been plenty of dumb stuff posted, and some credited to me I am sure. But it is damn close.

Why are you so concerned about what I post? Explain to me the whole movie and smoke thing to me? What do you see, omnipotent and omniscient one.

Those are the white pants in the picture. Just a lighting effect. They shot the photos in a dark room, only using the flash to illuminate the player.

Lol says the guy who had VN in a 6 month frenzy last year because of some hideous new aged number font.

And no, I'll never drop it, DeerPark. Too funny not to. You were so sure. The "insider" had everyone up in arms trying to determine this alleged fusion of Syracuse, Baylor and Arkansas' number fonts. Epic.

Really? You REALLY mention this like it is some big-deal before the unveiling last July 1st??

The Nike #s are certainly different, and unique to any other Team's...which was correctly described...

Maybe just in your mind it was a big deal...but...Really?

DP is the most credible source on VN.

The Smoky uniform wasn't created to be mixed and matched with our classic orange and white. That's not going to happen. You don't take a dump on tradition. And this is coming from a 27 year old non traditionalist.

I could care less if it's not mixed. Try telling that to the rest of our "progressive" uniform fanbase.

While you're at it, tell them that the orange helmet isn't going to happen either. That's probably the worst suggestion of all the uniform "what ifs".

An orange helmet could be cool. I'd have to see it though with the entire package.

If you still can't see the similarities to Arkansas' and Baylor's numbers, then I don't know how to help you.

I still think the number font is hideous, especially with the "4" that is open at the top. It's not as hideous as the first draft of the font that had a 6 without a top and a 9 without a bottom.

The Smokey Grey uniform pieces are not supposed to be mixed/matched with the standard orange/white. I wouldn't say it'll never happen, but I don't expect it to.

They have tested out orange helmet samples over the years with various treatments to make the color of it and the jersey match in different lighting conditions. Never been able to get a match that satisfied the equipment staff.

This conflicts with other responses in the past, but whatever.

How about when you told everyone not to expect an alternate helmet last year? Hit the nail on the head with that one, too, DeerPark. You're cool with the other stuff but just come to terms with the fact that you're not a reliable source when it comes to uniform stuff. It's okay, dude.

That makes sense to me, especially with the home uniforms. I think it would work great with the road uniform.

Does anyone know if the captains get a captain patch on their uniform? Seems like they would since they were elected for the whole year.

That's not what I said at all. In response to a question on if we would have an alternate helmet before the Nike uniforms were unveiled, I said that Adidas had designed an alternate helmet to be worn with the smoky grey, But UT had elected not to wear it. I then said in the same post that if Nike designed a helmet to go to smoky grey, UT would be obligated to wear it.

As I've told you before, if you don't like what I post, just hit the ignore button. Everyone has access to it.

I am failing to picture these 6s and 9s in my head, but I'm so intrigued on how that would have worked

For what it's worth, I support exactly no comments you're making in this thread. I think you're just sour grapesing all over the place.

I just want to know how a 6 and a 9 would look without the top and/or bottom. But if it did, I can see why he'd say that it was an atrocious font.
