and I couldn't disagree more. When I see the Nike Smokey Gray, I see a Half Azzed product and see a quality product with Adidas

Yeah, but Addidas made that exact same alternate uniform (only with a 2nd color other than orange) for Kansas and Texas A&M though. At least we have something unique, not a cookie cutter alternate.

Honestly, I can appreciate each jersey to the same degree. However, for some reason, I REALLY like the white jersey with orange pants.

I don't understand the "half azzed product" comment concerning the nike grey jersey. It looked good, but it was a template product that UT was able to be a part of. Nike provides us with a product that is original to Tennessee. The players love the jerseys. I hope the recruits love the jerseys too.

If Water boys got uniforms like these I would be handing some Vol Stud some H2O!!!

Go Vols!:rock::dance2::pepper:

Wonder if we'll ever see a chrome helmet with a Power T on it ? Seriously though, Nike did well on these. A few subtle updates, but not clowninsh like Oregon.

Alright Nike, can we get a baseball hat, in smokey grey, orange Power T on the front, orange stripe on the headband faded into the checkerboard around the back! JUST DO IT! GO VOLS!

For me, there was one uniform that actually impressed me on first viewing. Men's Basketball grey alternate actually looked impressive to me. I guess the rest of them need time to sink in, because none of it looked much better than I imagined it would. Maybe it looks better in person than on a computer monitor.

However, if the players really like their new gear ( and they at least say they do), that is what really counts.

That and it seems that Orange actually matches with Nike.

Luv em all!

I wouldn't mind to see something like this to mix things up a bit,

Sep. 5 - In Nashville..er..Home vs Bowling Green (Orange on Orange)...

Isn't Nashville technically a home game for BG? I think were in road unis.

I was impressed with all the uniforms for all the teams. Loved the watermark Power T and Lady Vol T on the back of the basketball uniforms and the logos on the side of the shorts. Loved the look of all the sports teams - and the technology of the uniforms is pretty cool too. :)

Sorry that you don't like it Debbie but I love it. You can always watch Bama football because their uniform looks the same as it did 70 years ago.
Now now they have little tuskers in their numbering ...

For me personally, it's gotta have enough orange to throw my fashion-conscious beloved wife (and Vandy student daughters) into fashion faux-pas seizures. So I love the orange-on-orange, and orange-on-white. Probably white-on-orange, too, though that tends to make me think of Dooley and my right eye starts twitching uncontrollably. There's not quite enough orange in the all-whites or all-greys for me, but that's just a personal preference for nefarious reasons.

Putting the fashionistas and Vandy students of the family into their place, one uniform piece at a time -- Go Vols!

I respectfully disagree...the two toned look and the way the Smokey Mountains are ghosted onto the helmets are awesome...

I like the white the Best tho...they pop really good with the orange collar.

All the helmets with the Checkerboard on the back are SWEET...

Not sure how anybody could dislike the alternate uni. Besides that the helmets are sick! What a great idea to ghost the smoky mountains into them.

I really liked all of them except the men's smokey grey basketball ones...Thought those were crappy looking...I did really like the women's smokey grey ones and wish they had done that with the men's.

I'd like to see what the gray pants look like with orange jerseys (or visa-versa).

I like the gray up close (the helmet is EXCELLENT), but viewed from a distance... Well, let me ask two questions that get to the real weakness of the gray-on-gray, regardless of individual tastes:

1) What would the stadium or TBA look like if we had a "gray-out" and filled the stands with gray? Would anyone want to gray checkerboard Neyland?

2) Let's say a beloved Tennessee legend dies suddenly, unexpectedly. To honor them, would it be appropriate wear the gray uni's? They do communicate a somber, let's take care of business tone. But if you do, what emotion will the gray be evoking the next time they wear them?

Nike using the checkerboard design in the stripes on the pants and helmets looks neat in my opinion. I think maybe this shows that the checkerboards are as much associated with UT as the power T, our flavor of orange, and Rocky Top.

I know other schools have tinkered with checkerboards (Fresno St, KY) and other schools use orange (Clemson, Ok St, ect), so maybe I'm wrong. But it appears that Nike sees it this way, as do I.

I hope I said that right.

I like the checkerboard stripe on the pants, the Lady Vols have used it for several years now and it has always looked good. I think the checkerboard is very much associated with UT, maybe more so than the Power T,..get a state away from Tennessee and outside the SEC and a lot of people think it is for Texas. Just like if you Google 'UT' more Texas comes up than Tennessee:blink:, but our orange is very distinctive from any of the other oranges.

I've always felt like the Power T is uniquely ours. Texas uses a block T, when they use one at all. It's the same shape as the old Lady Vols T (squared edges on the inside corners). Of course, Texas uses the longhorn steer head more even than the block T. So I think the Power T is just us, which is great.

I understand what you're saying, though, about how people outside the SEC (who don't follow college football nationwide) could mistakenly think the Power T is for Texas. Racist, imo. ( :) )

nike makes the same uniforms for all of their teams - none of them are unique except for the color

Yeah, cross the Mississippi and whether it's the UT or Power T (doesn't matter how you cut the corners) almost everybody thinks Texas. :-(

Still gets me when they talk about how much they hate UT...and they mean Texas!
