Anybody got stats on Pruitt.
I know he was DC for FSU in 2013. They ranked #2 defense behind Bama and won NC. Then he was DB coach at Bama. Seems like secondary was Bamas weakness if they had one. Wonder where bamas Defense ranked this year. Just trying to get some insight on his work. Not the big name I was hoping for, but seems like he is the guy. So are we doing the Butch Jones thing again, or does he have a resume to be excited about? Just asking

Wow, this means Fulmer must have made an initial offer to Pruitt last Saturday!

update - Jimmy Hyams

Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt has accepted the job as Tennessee's new coach. Details are still being ironed out, sources said, but the deal is basically done. He has coached in Alabama HS ranks for 8 years and in college for 11 years, 8 at Alabama

Let him coach the playoffs. We will get lots of free promotion during the games. The announcers will probably mention Pruitt to Tennessee every time Alabama makes a nice defensive play and that will be often. Maybe they will get a few of those NOTS (non offensive touchdowns). There will be a lot of perspective players watching. I believe it will be great for recruiting. Otherwise Tennessee won't be mentioned much at all. We need all the help we can get right now with recruiting. The guys needs to begin recruiting for his new job immediately. I'm hoping we can get a great OC that will demand that we be able to block and run the football and also that are WR run proper routes and catch the flippin football.

Absurd.

The head football coach at UT actively participating in helping Bama win a championship.

Done with him if he does that.

Brutal. I get the Bama hate I really do but this man has spent a year working with these young men. As a coach I don't know how you walk away without feeling like you let them down. Whether some Vol fans want to admit it or not the young men that play at Bama are just like the ones that play here or any other school in America. It seems to me that he is attempting to be loyal to those guys that have put their all on the line all year. Coach Pruitt wants to coach here but this year is still going on. He has unfinished business regardless if he's allowed to finish or not. Coaches and players develop family type relationship. We wouldn't want a coach that didn't care for the players. We may force him not to participate but anyone who has been through anything like this will understand that he will want to finish with his guys. In my previous post I was just trying to point out there could be a lot of positives in this for us. I know this just my opinion but many will likely disagree. I love the Vols and I believe Coach Pruitt is likely to do a great job here.

Saban may tell him no way.he didn't let Lane coach

if he can perform his duties at UT at the same time, let him coach

No way. If he’s our coach I don’t ever want to see him wearing Bama gear again. I don’t want our coach helping Bama win another national championship. Either fully commit to Tennessee or GTFO!

I don’t give a f*** what he’s spent the last year doing. If he spends another second on a Bama sideline he will NEVER have my support! When he signs the contract he needs to be 100% committed to Tennessee. If he’s not ready to leave Bama behind RIGHT NOW and commit to us, I will never forgive him for that.

If he coaches the playoff game, thats the same as recruiting for Alabama while accepting the Tennessee job. Saban doesnt need any help on the recruiting trail.

Seriously. I hope he doesn’t coach the playoffs then because it may be that a lot of our folks feel this way. I really wanted Petersen or Venables but this guy seems like a solid hire. Really hope he can give us all some relief from the crap fest we’ve witnessed over the last decade.
