Hey guys and gals... My wife and I just moved to Knoxville on Monday from out of state and are looking for as much information as you all are willing to throw at us with regard to gameday in Knoxville. Categories of interest include:

Pregame (traditions, hangouts, tailgaiting, etc...) e.g. When/Where do you go to see the March and other traditional stuff like that? What route does the band take?

Tickets - I saw the thread on scalpers.... Has anybody ever been given fake tickets??? (it happens in Houston all of the time)

Other relevant/irrelevant information - We were wondering just how much money to the VASF gets you anywhere with regard to parking/season tickets, etc...

Thanks in advance, we hope to see you all down there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

never had a problem with fake tickets. It is much easier and cheaper to buy season tkts from stub hub.

It is cheaper to buy season tickets from stub hub than to go to the game and pick up a pair per game for about $40-$50 for most games? At the SC game, you could get a nice pair for $30, I hear. I've never done it, so I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm surprised you can get a better deal by getting season tickets. The easier part...I'll give you that, especially if you're the type that likes to be in your seat 45 minutes before they run through the T.

I get 5 tickets and one parking pass for a 2500 donation. The tickets are 44 each as well. If you call the VASF they can send you the info or you can them about which parking pass you want. It is all about points and the longer you donate, the more points you have or give more money to buy points.

If you are going to all of the games it is much easier and cheaper to use stub hub than buying season tkts from the school. If you are just going to a couple of games just buy them at the stadium is the way to go. Just depends on if you want to spend time looking for tickets or drinking beer. Your call

An excellent recap of some of our traditions, history, etc., can be found here.

Also, from one of the University's official sites, you can get information on the timing of events for each game day. Look for "gameday essentials." You can also sign up for an e-mail newsletter there, where you will get the same info.

I'm glad you had a good time. Get some orange to wear and get into the Vols. We are a nice and welcoming bunch of people and that goes double where our servicemen are concerned.

I hope all your experiences in Knoxville are as pleasant for you.

GO USA! GO VOLS!
