For male high school history teachers? I've been told pretty freakin easy.

You've been lied to. Easy for math and science, the rest is a toss up and if you know someone. My masters got me my job, that and they had a sub in for the first month of school until I was interviewed.

Oh, and coaching is a big plus.

I don't know whether to get my master's or not. I've been told it can help and it can hurt..

Yeah, my parents are really hesitant to support me going into history, they think math and science is better in the the job market. But history is what I love.

Depends on the money crunch of the school system. Wealthier schools always go for the more certified.... I am actually at a title one school, but they are trying to change the culture.

Do what you love, because youre going to talk about the samething 3-7 times a day for 30 years.

That's exactly what I told them

Get certified in history geography government socialogy and any other social studies..... Principals love a person that has multiple uses and you will enjoy that one or two classes that has a different topic than the others.

Most history majors will have to take a poli scie at one point or another, but it doesn't matter in the state of TN. If you can pass the praxis on a subject you are certified to teach it. New rule as of the last 3 years.
