I think what NEEDS to be done so i wont beat that horse anymore.

Now for a in-season fix i think hitting the reset without save button would work.

Seriously though. I will start with the Defense.
1. Wrap up. Something so small it killing us weekly.
2. Penetration. Just getting in the back field will disrupt the timing of the offense
3. Containment on the Perimeter. The ends need to turn the outside plays back inside and keep the QB from scrambling out of the pocket.
4. Get Offended. The D has been abused every way possible. They need to get mean and nasty again the way they have been in the past. This could be the most important aspect. They get burned on a big play and there is no emotion. And when they do make a tackle they crow like they just made the game winning tackle yet there 2 TD's behind. We need someone with a Al Wilson, Leonard Little, or someone similar to WANT to hurt the other player. Hit them in the mouth and laugh when they spit out blood. Our current D has no balls.

Offense
1. Get Physical. The O line is doing a nice job of pass pro but are getting man handled on run block. Once again we need to get mean and start blasting people and make them hesitate to run a blitz because they know there gonna hurt.
2. If the Pinky is stopping the long ball or hurting accuracy during a scramble get him out of the game. I think Ainge is a great QB but if he cant play at atleast 95% we need someone in who can.
3.Run the damn football. Quit dancing and running for the sideline and pound the effing rock.
4.Get playmakers in the game. Our current WR are doing a nice job on 5-10 yard routes but if they cant go the long ball put at least one frosh in who can. You dont have to scrap the whole starting unit to add in one player with game breaking ability.
5.Run, Run, Pass, Punt didnt work in the 80's, 90's or now so do something original please. I can call damn near every play Cut is gonna call without even watching the game just following the play-by-play on my phone. If i can do that guess what, so can coaches making about 10 times what i do.
6. 3rd and 12 does not mean you throw a 2 yard pass, never has, never will.

Special Teams
KOR is getting better with some of the young guys back there. Take a hint and do it on offense.

KO coverage. My god can you fix something this broke? I say kick it OOB every time and give it to them on the 35...better than what we are doing now. It's main problem is piss poor tackling and not staying in the lanes, stuff you learn in pop warner.

just blitz every play. 6-8 man rush. if they burn our corners, so be it.

as for punt coverage. just angle the kick out of bounds every play. seriously. glaring problem solved.

THIS was the year to get Florida and Georgia - 2007 will be the worst season for both teams in the next 3. 2008 and 2009 might be worse for us than right now. I'm serious.

I dont doubt it. Switch Ainge with Crompton and then imagine the score. They would have dropped 70 on us.

I mean, hell, Florida started like 9 SO and FR on DEFENSE! Harvin is a SO, Tebow is a SO, Faison is a SO, and it goes on and on and on and on.

Crompton would have handed the ball off, you know the right way.

I think Crompton could hit those 5-10 yard passes all day long. Since that is what we run all day long.

Heck, Crompton might have been able to sling it down the field a little bit.

I love Ainge don't get me wrong but as I said in another thread that pinky is killing us. Never. Never. Never, should a QB hand a ball off like that.

I couldn't agree any more strongly with this than if I had written it myself.

Worst vol performance in 25 years of me being a fan.

No life on the team late. The defense was just gassed.

My son went to the game and he said in the fourth quarter the d-backs would be on their knees between plays trying to get some air.

Chavis' bend don't break works with conventional-O but the spread kills it. They could have put up 80 if Tewbow threw early rather than ran.

I'm not sure if we will ever have another Al Wilson, Leonard Little, or John Henderson. They were simply some of the best to ever play in college. BUT, we can get players with the same level of intensity. Every other team manages to get them so there is no excuse as to why we cant. There talent level was rare and leadership ability rarer but intensity should be status-quo.

Those guys were the exception not the rule.We cannot expect to get those guys every year.Coaching has to make up for it in some years thats how teams remain dominate. They hide any obvious weakness with good fundamentals and tough nardnosed football play.Sadly we don't do either of the latter anymore.

I wasn't talking about talent or leadership, i agree they are too rare of players anymore, but, intensity is player created not god givin such as talent.

We have a few players who show flashes of that type of intensity but it seems that that mentality is no longer rewarded or encouraged at Tennessee.

Coaching creates leaders.

UF just KNEW they were going to win. UT just HOPED it might happen.

If you are a leader you need to get in someones face when they make a mistake.

I would have liked to see Ainge grab a face mask of somebody on the O-line and tell then to run block or get their *ss on the bench. I've seen Farve do it more than once.

What bothers me most about this team is they are used to losing. Read the post game quotes. why does the media even interview anyone? You get the same, "We didnt make the plays, We need to work like heck, Need to see the film to be sure...."

Sure of what?!? YOU JUST GOT YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU BE 40 [expletive] POINTS!!!!!!!!!!

I do have to admire Demonte Bolden's quote "I dont like to [expletive] lose." At least there is one player or coach actually willing to show some emotion. Ill shut up now before i start saying what i really think and get banned.

No, there ARE tough hard-nosed defensive football players out there, they just aren't on our team anymore. But we can can and should expect a program like ours could recruit those types of players.
