If you haven't before study STAR interview questions. Even if they do not ask questions in this vein when possible phrase them in this format. It's concise, specific, and is one of the best ways to stay on topic.

When I interview people, I tell them that I want answers that meet the STAR model. Sadly, many struggle wanting instead to give generic answers that do nothing to tell me how they can contribute.
