New Student Tickets Process

The new ticket deal seems a little complicated... I just wish we could get season tickets and be done with it and not have to worry about doing this every week. I better not get screwed out of tickets because I have 0 credit hours coming in as a freshman.

The good thing is that they aren't reducing the student allotment from last year. It's still at 13,500.

I havent missed a UT home game since I was six. I hope I dont have to buy outside regular tickets because I dont have enough loyalty points

This, except I'm a junior.

Settle down. You're not going to have problems getting a ticket. I often waited until the last day and still got seats. It's going to be okay.

Minus the lower deck corners, which is a possibility beside the band, there's not a bad seat in the house.

Good god-all that for a ticket? Tickets should be first come, first serve. I think it is outrageous that students should have to pay for tickets AFTER already paying an activity fee. I'd love to know who thought up this whole loyalty point system.

The only big problem I have with system is how they average the loyalty points of your group. I'm going to end up having a lot of loyalty points but a lot of the people I'll be going to games with live off-campus and aren't going to stick around for some of the other events so our average is going to be real low and were going to get terrible seats. I liked the random way better.

Dont worry, they struggle to find 13,500 students who want to come to football games.

They didn't struggle until they started messing with the ticket distribution system, and charging for tickets beyond the activity fee.

I can go on a rant about how they have played a shell game with exactly what the "activity fee" is for over the past 7 years and have worked their way into a logical fallacy that makes it certain that at one time or another they were screwing the students with it, but I will spare you guys as I have ranted a lot in this thread already.

I would hate the new system and hate the fact students have to pay cash. Do they still have an activity fee built into the tuition? I think our fee was around 650 when I got out which covered ticket costs.
The old system had its problems but it is/was far better than this system. Actually they should allow every student the chance for tickets. I know that will never fly because of the money lost but at the end of the day the game is supposed to be for the students.

There is still an activity fee (which has grown every year I have been here), and you HAVE to pay it to be eligible to attend football games, even though they claim it has NOTHING TO DO with football and that's why you have to pay for a ticket... See the circular logic?

so, in addition to tuition, what do you pay now? an activities fee + technology fee + what else?

alive and well...

Well if you do, you can always come squeeze in with me and my buds if we have good seats, which we should since we will be juniors. You seem like a cool enough guy :eek:k:
