New starters for the USM game?

Don't ruin Berry by moving him around. He needs to stay at cornerback, even if he has to play in the nickel package for another week or so. Moving him to safety isn't going to FIX anything and is only going to confuse him.

Other than a bobble or two, Briscoe played as well as we could have expected. Nothing spectacular, but I still don't understand why they didn't throw the other guys in there more often to run those difficult 10 yard and in routes.

If everyone doesn't get significant time against Southern Miss then you can forget about them making any kind of impact possibly for the season. There isn't any kind of time like the present as there was last night or next weekend.

Will someone explain to me the reason you see switching Berry and Hef? I mean what makes Berry seem like a better safety?

I was as well. Our possession receivers did their job, but forget O'Neil and give Gerald a chance to prove he can be a legitimate threat.

So, he feels like his injury is healed enough to play? That's good to hear. I fully expected to see Gerald on the field before Vinson - and really before O'Neal unless we were running a true deep route with him.

Switching berry to safety makes no sense ant least for this year.They need a good FS that can cover and help in run support.From what i've heard mckenzie is a wicked hitter,but struggles with coverage.Secondary just needs to start tackling.I can't remember one of them really getting beat bad.What we need to do is find every available lineman and try them in the line till someone shows they can be a disruptive force in there.Sad thing is we may not have anyone like that.:question:

SS- Mckenzie
FS- Hef
OLBs- McCoy and Myers-White
ILB- Mayo
DEs- Ayers and Reynolds. Also get Brown and Mathis in there some to see what they got.
DTs- Mapu and Bolden. Just prey that they can do something this week.


USM fans are saying that their OL hasnt been that great so far so that should help.

I would not be surprised in the least if this is the starting lineup you see on Saturday.

Ayers is almost definitely getting a start. Karl may start .. I'm not sure about that one, but Myers-White may get the nod with Karl's performance in Berkeley. I don't think we switch up our DT's yet because I have no idea who they would replace them with. As far as I know, they weren't be pushed too hard by any backups. If Parrish starts, I would be amazed. McKenzie better be ready....

You could be right ... but I'm going to withhold "complete disappointment" judgment until after we've seen a few offensive lines. We faced what I believe is a much better than average, definitely good, maybe really good, offensive line on Saturday in Berkeley. Their stats could reflect that. Bolden hasn't impressed me yet in any game...but he could be improved, I am waiting to see him against other lines.
