I was pleasantly surprised with yesterday’s recruitment results considering the less than 2 weeks Pruitt had to get them.

That said, I have been a bit surprised that Pruitt hasn’t yet finalized a staff or made any real announcement of the positions he has hired (at least not that I’ve seen).

I have been somewhat indifferent to him coaching Bama right now - I can see it from both perspectives - but I do have a little concern about the status of the staff, especially since the GM position fell through and JP is back with Bama for at least the next few weeks.

I’m guessing the remaining positions aren’t being announced until after the playoffs & Championship. Does this mean they will likely come from Bama & UGA, or has anyone heard of possibilities from other bowl eligible teams?

Since a few are currently coaching teams in bowls and we have a couple hires still to make, I think they are just waiting until the entire staff is finalized to make an announcement.

As far as the other positions, I think they are people still coaching, but I have no idea who or from what team. I know they like USC Jr's WR coach.

I gotta believe a lot of people who are smarter than I am are doing the right things for UT football. I see a lot of positives in recruiting. I've watched Alontae Taylor play and hope he signs tomorrow. Go Big Orange! VFL!

He’s not able to finalize the staff until the second week of January because the ncaa won’t allow the tenth full time assistant to be hired until then.

I wish Utsports.com would update the assistant coaches list or at least, remove the old ones who are now gone and are coaching elsewhere.............

Thread title misleading, the staff is not yet complete.

I'm an optimist. Maybe he has some coaches that haven't told everyone their leaving yet. Cough cough Tosh Lapoi, I expect a good WR coach and a good ILB coach hire in our future. Plus another offensive administrative job like Steve sarkisian. But not SS lol.

Who else do you guys think? I am excited about the alleged hires so far and think recruiting has been an emphasis.

I don't think losing the GM guy was a big deal at all. Only 2 schools have one and neither of them have done much so far.

Lance Thompson was mentioned a lot when Pruitt was first hired. He could be waiting until after the completion of the Scar season. Personally I didn’t not want him here, but understand why Pruitt might. For all we know Sherrer could coach ILBs. Will be interesting to see how not only Pruitt, but all coaches structure their staffs going forward.

We need a top SC coach, into today's way of football you got to have a elite SC COACH besides the OC and DC the SC coach is with the player's more than any other coach we got.

CJP knows who he wants, and we will know when he can formally announce them. I agree that with the NFL season still underway, that might be delaying an announcement. The bowl season is also a big factor. He'll get it done.

Anyone think he's not filling the staff at this point because that would negate Fullmer's ability to recruit?

I have a theory about why the staff isn't finalized yet.

Right now without a full staff Pruitt can have Fulmer recruit with/for him, now you might say well none of these kids will really know who Fulmer is or what he did as a coach, but their parents will.

That's what a lot of recruiting is also about, get the parents on your side and they will help steer their kid to you. So until he finalizes his staff Pruitt can have Fulmer out there doing his best to recruit the parents who in turn might get their kid to look at UT.

I'd be surprised if he finalizes his staff before NSD, would be better if he waited till after so he can have Fulmer out there for as long as possible.

Many coaches are not available until after bowl games. Any NFL coach will be after that season. Most others are not going to be available for a couple of more days until after the early signing period concludes. Patience!

Conspiracy theories around Fulmer are BS. Be sure to line your colander hat with foil before going outside!

I went to look for the bios and they still haven't put anything up. How hard is it to create a bio for the coaches already hired? Weird.
