New Soundtrack for the Vols

Bout' time. Put that music in the stadium on game day and we'll be ready to go

No joke. I'm so sick and tired of watching highlights from 40 years ago. They need to get something to get the crowd pumped up. Last year at the Alabama game they played "We Ready" which pumped everyone up the first time it was played. 5th and 6th times weren't as effective, but still better than the crap they throw up on the jumbotron.

Yeah. If you know where to put an application for stadium DJ let me know, I'll get that place jumping

This was my high school's song that they came out to my freshman year! It always got everyone pumped up!

Apparently the attitude of the players is so high, I really enjoy reading how the players are buying into this new staff. Here is hoping it will carry over onto the field.

It doesnt matter if we like rap music or not, which I do. All that matters is these kids come out fired up and ready to kill somebody. If T.I or Lil Wayne can make that happen then play the heck out of it...you will see about 80 men in orange and white go nuts and that will overflow to about 103,000 people, next thing you know we are Tennessee football again...143 more days!!! GO VOLS!!

Perhaps I'm the devil's advocate here, but I think that if you need rap music to get pumped up to play in front of 103,000 Vol fans, then you don't deserve the "T" on your helmet. The game itself and the atmosphere should give you all the motivation you need.

I question the players like of Soulja Boy...........................

Put some Jeezy or some Project Pat on there. That'll get em fired up.

I don't like Soulja Boy but that "hop up out the beeeeeeeeddddddd, turn my swag onnnn" song is catchy and wild.

Anyway, was anyone else really scared that the football players were making rap songs and videos like the b-ball team did before their season? Man I was like "noooooooooo" while clicking the link lol. Wayne, TI, and Soulja are tight. I think that the only reason that they named those artists is because they are commercially recognizable. I bet they were also listening to Gucci, Dro, Gotti, OJ Da Juice. You can't go anywhere without hearing those 4 guys.

Well, it certainly can't hurt anything.

Well they really don't have 103,000 people to pump them up right now.

They can play whatever kind of music they want. I know that I like to listen to specific types of music when I work out, so I imagine that the players do too. If it helps them enjoy practice and try harder, they can listen to Tom Jones for all I care. :pepper:

I think that listening to Tom Jones would classify you as a woman. Woman don't play football. Therefore Tom Jones is a bad idea.

I also think that Hollywood has done a hatchet job to the idea of inspiration in football. No amount of getting jacked up and super pumped is going to make you play better football. Playing "inspired football" means that you know your assignments, you're in position, and you execute. Locker room speeches are great and give you goosebumps, but the work is done in between the ears.

Well, some might say that listening to Tom Jones or Billy Joel would make one womanly, but if we won every game while playing a little TJ, I would be fine with that.

Soulja Boy is good for rap, as crack is good for the body

That's just one persons opinion. Not everyone will get fired up the same way. I'm not a fan of rap music, but they can play it all day at Neyland if it means our guys will get pumped. Music can put someone in the right mindset or "zone" which can take the nerves and worry away giving you more focus, and we need our guys to play loose.
