Surprised they didn't add 1 more game. I'm alright with keeping it the same. Keeping 4 OCC games gives the opportunity to keep scheduling multiple cream puffs every year.

But with Candy and KY, that gives us 6 out-of-conference cream puffs every year.......doesn't seem fair.

I think it's a little strange since certain opponents will only be on the schedule twice every ten years instead of every five. I think one thing that might bear discussion is to rotate cross-divisional opponents every year instead of every two years. So this season we play @ Mississippi State. Maybe next year we play Auburn in Knoxville. Then the year after that we play @ Ole Miss. Then we play TAMU in Knoxville. Then we play @ LSU, etc etc

Not a bad idea. This will help mix it up so UGA doesn't keep having an easy ride to success.

He's got jokes....

I do wonder how long this 6-1-1 will stand for though. Every 10-12 yrs seems like a long time to play other division teams. I think we have a pretty decent mini-riveraly going with Lsu. Other than last yr we have had some really good games with them. Doing that every 10-12 yrs could dilute that for sure.

Many fans don't like losing the aubarn and even Ole piss games and now they r getting farther apart too.

Just IMO that's all...

I think there will be more expansion in the next few years and it will change again anyways, so it doesnt really matter.

Eight SEC game schedule is fine until it hurts the chances of making the NC playoff. Then it will stink big time since several other major conferences are or plan to be going to the nine now. I know Slive wants the SEC to schedule a major top 25 type team for the first game of the season to counter it. But that will only work for a short period as the other conferences start biting the bullet and schedule a tough non-conference game out of their three. The only thing holding it back IMO is the belief that the SEC will get to nine games as soon as they add two more teams.

"The LSU and Florida series, in particular, has already drawn plenty of chatter about possibly being on the chopping block..."

They better not cancel that as a permanent game. It wouldn't be fair to Tennessee and Georgia, who play Bama and Auburn, respectively, for Florida to stop playing LSU every year. If we start carrying our weight again, it would't be fair to Bama for LSU to lose the Gators.

One of those teams beat us last year and we needed overtime to beat the other. Both finished ahead of us in the final standings. Not sure we're in a position to be mocking either of those teams at this point.

We're too busy guaranteeing victory against teams we haven't beaten in years to worry about Vandy and KY.

This will change again when we go to 16 teams. This is still a temporary scheduling model.

One game does not make a trend.

We can make fun of those 2 teams any time we want to, just check our record against them during the last 30 years.

The same UK that just beat us and barely beat Vandy? Were not back in a position to call any SEC teams cream puffs yet.
