I was lambasted for suggesting we might end up paying Schiano 4 to 5 million of his 27 million dollar contract for breaking the MOU. Just now Hyams agreed it will likely be in the millions with his co-host after talking to "lots of coaches" about the situation.

Here is an interesting new perspective. Schiano may hold all the cards. People on VN speculated that Schiano wouldn't want to go to court. Hyams, on the other hand, thinks he WILL want to go to court to clear his name. It's an opportunity for him to show he has nothing to hide. Conversely, Hyams thinks Tennessee won't want to go to court and will try to settle. UT administrators will be asked pointed questions under oath about the role of boosters in the coaching search, something UT has tried very hard to keep quiet. The Schiano court case may end up revealing many of the details of this saga, unless Tennessee settles.

On the flip side, he can be deposed on the whole Sandusky tie in and we can drag that to light. I bet he doesnt want that.

It's not going to court, the MOU wasn't fully executed. We owe Shiano jack squat. Hyams is just stirring the pot.

Hyams doesnt know jack about MOU's. Oh and if suit were filed UT would ask Schiano questions he probably doesnt want to answer under oath..... Additionally a lawsuit filed by Schiano would detrimentally affect his future employment prospects - what school wants to hire a litigious coach.

And if the MOU wasnt executed by all parties it is likely unenforceable.

Whatever the settlement is, Haslam needs to pay for it out of his own damn pocket.

Hyams is clueless. He basically talked to some old coaches. Of course they think the other coach is owed money.

I'm sure we'll settle, that's fine. Don't need to deal with anything else at the moment.

If they truly wanted to fight, I would use Bev not signing and say it was because of learning of the order to dive at opposing players knees during victory formation.
That's not speculation like the Sandusky stuff. She could claim being unaware until the fall out. She has the right to deny the University being represented by someone she deems not of character.

But back to reality, I'm guessing they'll settle.

He deserves some $$$

How much idk

Smells of a settlement out of court.

The character assassination done on him by uninformed Tennessee fans and State officials was pretty bad.....

Did he do anything when the court documents were released? You'd think that would have been the time to clear his name.

The MoU wasn't signed by all necessary authorities, therefore it was not executed.

He can't sue UT for slander. UT did not slander him.

In other words, no case.

This is where the state elected officials will have Tennessee pay the man to keep them away from private lawsuits...

Hyams is just the Haslam family mouthpiece. That should be painfully obvious after last week.

Any settlement to S#itasno for a non-binding, incompletely executed contract should be paid by Haslam and Currie.

The fan base trashed him, not the university. How are they accountable? Does Greg want to sue all of us? Good luck to him then.

And? No one affiliated with the university in an official capacity ever said anything to defame him, he has no suit.

So now we don't owe him a dang thing. If he honestly thought the whole Sandusky thing wouldn't come to into play at some point then he's a dang fool

If it wasn't us it would've been some other school

Like I said, Tennessee will
Settle with him for some amount of $$$.

His best case is the elected state officials, character assisnation on him. Tennessee elected state officials will have Tennessee pay the man to make it go away.....

Like everything else they will use your state tax dollars to cover their own butt #1

Welcome to reality

How will he sue them? Did they name him? Did they piint to anything that wasn't readily available to the public?

This info is out there, it's public knowledge before we or any politicians got a hold of it.

If anything a good lawyer will point that he has taken no action towards McQuery about this

All the legislators I saw on twitter say was that they didn’t support the hire. Didn’t even say why, just implicitly.
