He can get to 290-295 easy and that is good enough if he is super strong and tough. He will not play O-Line at Tennessee at 265, Butch Jones did that and we got mauled. If we do a lot of pulling and have tough guys that can move in the 290-300 range or at least a few at that range it can work. Heupel knows what kind of lineman it takes, he played in a big boy league and I have like what he said about the LOS. GBO!!!!!He might depending on his metabolism and diet. Putting on and maintaining that sort of weight, takes what I'm estimating is 7-9,000 calories a day, and probably more during the season when they are working out, practicing and playing on saturdays.
There's no guarantee that he's going to be able to get to 300+ and maintain that weight, especially since he's only 6'4"

295 is not good enough in the SEC, or do I need to remind you of the 2017 roster when freshman Trey Smith was our biggest lineman at 320? That line, was across the board terrible.
I wonder what being in a major college strength and conditioning program could do. We have some good lineman, I doubt this lineman was recruited to play next year. We will see. But, feel free to wring your hands and gnash your teeth.265 lb lineman is Butch Jones size guys. Heck my local High School team has guys on the line bigger than that. SMH
That weight isn’t anything to fret over. 10-15 pounds of good weight is nothing in a good strength and conditioning program.
In a lot of cases these project lineman can put on 40 -50 lbs in a couple of years in the right S.C. program and that is what they believe they will by their Soph year. I think if you watch the pros now the defensive lineman are so fast of the edge the old type guys just can't get out to block them and the trend for slimmer, fast, quick lineman is real. I live in Nashville and see the Titan lineman out and about and they are in general not what you may think. These guys look like overgrown Linebackers, 6"5"-6"8" and around 310-320 and they ain't fat. That weight isn’t anything to fret over. 10-15 pounds of good weight is nothing in a good strength and conditioning program.
Yes they can be, losing weight during the season is a result of an improper diet and strength/conditioning planA 295 lb lineman at the beginning of the season won't be 295 at the end.
We've already played that game before with trying to field an undersized oline in the SEC, and we don't have a Josh Dobbs on the roster to make it even remotely feasible.
I remember when we played GT and no one on their entire oline weighed 300lbs. They promptly ran for a million yards on us that night. Keep in mind Khalil was like 330 on our dline and we had D Taylor. Trenches aint about size its about leverage. The problem with Botch's lines werent their size becuase he got two 9 wins seasons out of that. The problem he had was the lineman he brought werent very good outside of Trey. U can be huge and still be trash. What does their interest in him have to do with whether or not 295 is an acceptable weight for an SEC offensive lineman?
