New Offensive coordinator?

This is so true. Mustain and Crompton are very similar players (both 5 stars coming out of HS, same height, etc) and Malzahn did more with a Freshman in Mustain than Clawson did with a redshirt Junior in Crompton....

Mustain has done more than Clawson. Wow, he must be the best coach in America. Surely the benchmark for success is anything better than the worst offense in the SEC.

Check out how awesome Mustain was at Arkansas:

Now look at how Casey Dick has progressed without Gus:

I like Muschamp, but i'd still rather have Bronco Mendenhall (who had experience as a DC) b.c. Bronco has experience managing an entire team, while Muschamp only really manages the Defense. This doesnt mean that Muschamp wouldn't make a great coach but i think right now, Bronco is our best choice.

I would just like to see someone on our sideline with energy and attitude of Muschamp if I were going with a defensive coach. I'm sooooo tired of the "clapping".

I watched all those games. Mustain had about as much to do with those wins as I did.

ok, you must have been an O lineman blocking for Musatin then
when he threw to Clevland in the endzone to beat a ranked Bama team

with the kind of numbers Gus is putting up on offense, he's not going to be a OC very long, so if we aren't getting an established head coach, yes I'm OK with Gus

this is true. if we can pick up Gus now i think it will be a steal. He's sure to be out of there if not this year, than pretty soon. He need to get him while we can....

You mean the Bama team that finished 6-7 and got Mike Shula fired? Wow, I take it all back, he's the SEC's greatest quarterback ever. Oh wait, Mustain went 7/22 that day with 3 picks. I wonder if that game was in any way decided by Leigh Tiffin missing about 20 kicks? Or Arkansas scoring a defensive TD? Or Darren McFadden and Felix Jones rushing for over 6 ypc? No, it must have been all on Mitch Mustain.

We can take chances on OC's from big schools or NFL teams. But I doubt Hamilton would look to hire an OC from a small program as the head coach. I don't think Gus would be a smart hire.

exactly. it wouldnt make sense to hire a OC from a small school for our head coach, but it would definetly make sense to hire a small school OC to be our OC....

i still think that if Bronco Mendenhall and Gus Malzahn join forces, UT will have a to notch team.

Gus would be a great hire. He's already proven that his teams have great offenses and that he can perform on an SEC level (his 06 Arkansas team went to the SEC championship game and lost to eventual national champion florida)

1. Houston Nutt heavily influenced that offense

2. We probably won't have the luxury of an offensive line that stout, or two running backs that good.

3. The 2007 Razorbacks actually had a higher yards per game average than the 2006 Razorbacks, that is with a good bit less talent.

fulmer isn't going to hire a guy that would pose a threat to take his job. i don't blame clawson for this debacle, it's fulmer team. we've been showing the same formations for years and every team knows what we're going to do. this isn't clawson's fault, but fulmer will use him as a scapegoat and we'll have fulmer for 2-3 more years.

We need a new OC, HC, and DC. Heck get rid of em all but keep Drayton because he is a good recruiter.

I can't disagree with any of that
but Gus has had the top offense in the country at Tulsa the last two years

I'd like Gus as the OC, but if it's somenone else so be it, as long as Clawson's gone
