Tennstud posted on Gridscape that one of his sources says if Cut goes the plan is to make Trooper and Adkins co-offensive coordinators. I guess one will handle the running game and one the passing game. Sounds like a recipe for disaster and it suggests to me that Phil, or someone, wants Adkins to be the OC but they are afraid of losing Taylor. Anyone ever heard of this coordinator by committee system? If so, did it work? It sounds a little like the Fulmer/Sanders situation except here you'll have two guys who presumably will be of equal stature. I wonder how many timeouts would be used up while the co-cordinators try to agree on which play to call? Or maybe they could just alternate run-pass, and then switch it up every third possession or so just to keep the defenses honest. :eek:lol:

We're screwed! Screwed I tells you!

Hey now, I am being serious. He was a former UCLA OC and now coaches at U of Montana.

wasn't 2005 an offensive "play call by committee"?

I think so, and it failed miserably, as there is no definable rhythm for the QB and the offense to get in.

EDIT:
It was by committee after Sanders resigned in early November 2005. We know how it ended. :cray:

How about it doesn't matter because whoever it is will be handcuffed by Fulmer and their calls will be dictated by him.

Fulmer isn't going to get any big ego cause he knows they aren't going put up with his s&^%, he's going to get some young guy and say, "Here's what were going to do."
