Couple of other sites have multiple bloggers saying UT reps are on their way to Utah to speak with Mendenhall!!

No Source here but feel free to look at the other.

Need to be a member to see the bloggers.

I Dont Know This to tbe anything other than what I have just Stated... :unsure:

Not sure why he would leave. He's a mormon and he's got things rolling like crazy up there.

Umm University of Utah? Their coach is Kyle Whittingham and the Knox radio this morning said they have contacted him. If you mean someone else then my apologies.

Umm BYU is located in the state of Utah, FYI......that being said, there's no way this has legs. He's a BYU lifer.

What about Houston Nutt at Ole Miss? He has taken bad programs like Arkansas and Ole Miss and made them winners, think of what he could do with the talent at a place like Tennessee!

This is the one time I will actually have a source kind of. I used to work in the BYU athletic department part-time fixing computers when I was in College, and spoke to Bronco personally on several occasions.

He has no interest in any other coaching job. BYU is is dream job, he wants to be the next LaVelle Edwards.

Arkansas ran him out of the program even after he had his best seasons with McFadden. To get the big time recruits they either had to be out of Arkansas or he had to hire their high school coaches on staff. Right now he is still playing off of Orgeron's recruits at Ole Miss. He is not the answer.

I'd be fine with Mendenhall, but I have a feeling he's not going to leave BYU. Still, can't hurt to ask. We should have asked if he was interested the day Kiffin left.

No way on Houston Nutt. Nutt's perfectly OK as a coach, but he can't recruit. He stepped in at Arkansas and took the players that Danny Ford never got a chance see develop, and had success until they were gone. He would have been fired later on if Darren McFadden hadn't fallen into his lap. Then, as soon as he didn't have McFadden anymore, he went to Ole Miss and coached the players that Ed Orgeron bought and couldn't coach.

Now that Coach Zer-O's players are leaving the program, Nutt is looking for someone else's talent to vulture off of for a few years.

having had a front row seat at the nutt disaster here in arkansas, i can tell you that as a loyal vol, i don't want his you know what within a thousand miles of knoxville.

p.s.: you're giving him way too much credit. neither arkansas nor ole miss were "bad programs" when he took them over. danny ford and the snake orgeron had left the cupboards full. nutt is too d----d lazy to recruit. the good players like mcfadden he had later fell into his lap.

We're getting all these rumors because hamilton hired a search firm to help. That firm is reaching out to prospective coaches to see if there would be any interest in coming to Knoxville. No doubt they are all over the states looking and interviewing.

ESPN is reporting all these coaches are saying no but have we offered any...Thats the question,.. Mendenhall would be a great hire...
