Heard a group on alternative channel on satellite radio the other day called "Foster the People." They have a tune called "Pumped Up Kicks" that I think has a good groove to it (lyrics might be a little disturbing).

Any new bands/music you would recommend for others?

Karnivool's Sound Awake album, almost a year old in US but it's fairly new. Great band from Australia.

I was always stubborn with music, stuck to AC/DC, Metallica, Hendrix, etc. Nothing wrong with it, but decided to give other things a shot. Here are some bands on my new CD.

Cee Lo Green "Forget you"
SteelDrivers
Mumsford & Sons
Old Crow Medicine Show- "Let it be"

I'm digging the Scissor Sisters right now. The redhead is soooo hot.

YouTube - Girl Talk - Jump On Stage

Won't be for everybody, but I like this mix. Especially about 2 minutes in. They actually had this playing in parts during the vols recruiting dinner on signing day. The "creep" mix with dude from Wutang is nice, imo.

so mad this is who they got to play Volapalooza. Maybe it would be fun in 2008, but now its just a whole bunch of sorority girls trying to dress like hipsters saying "omg, we got to get on stage". EVERYONE gets to go on stage. every show.

So, i went to memphis in may for real music.

if you want music with a message and a good sound, listen to The Avett Brothers. Almost every song is poetic and it brings back the use of banjo, standup bass, and cello to rock
