Lets just get a win on Monday Night Football. Do we know yet if Kornheiser and gang are doing the game?

Clemson had the Labor Day night game last year and it was unreal. Ours was at home, so it was a little different. It did have the college commentators though.

Needless to say, very few made it to their 8 am the next morning..

All the above... plus

seeing Phil Fulmer running what easily looks like a sub 4.0 40 yd dash (although some say it's impossible) as he leads the Vols through the T in Neyland! :dance2:

PS. It's also knowing that while this statement really bothers some people beyond belief, those same people will still be Vols fans whether Phil stays or goes. Years ago, some of us watched our 1988 squad start out 0-6, so I'm sure we'll weather out being relegated to SEC East championship--temporarily.

1988 — Won 5 Lost 6
Oct. 22 Memphis State Memphis 38-25 W
Nov. 5 Boston College (HC) Knoxville 10-7 W
Nov. 12 Mississippi Oxford 20-12 W
Nov. 19 Kentucky Knoxville 28-24 W
Nov. 26 Vanderbilt Nashville 14-7 W

The very next year, 1989, the Vols went 11-1 and won the SEC championship. 9 seasons later, we shared a perfect season. I'm pretty sure we can recover from having lost last year's championship game on a pick 6 to LSU.

Welcome to VN! Great football tradition in the 'Burgh.:)

Welcome.
Unfortunately by your name, it seems your a Steeler fan. :bad:

I would make a quip about cincy's ugly uni's and general lack of championships but it seems like you guys are having a tough enough offseason as it is, can we at least be united by our mutual hatred for the mistake by the lake that is the cleveland browns

Vol of Steel, you aren't going to believe this but Chris Henry has been charged with assault. Just reported that he assaulted a man Monday. :shakehead:

You are going to love Tennessee. I graduated UT in '97, spent 4 of the best years of my life there (not to mention I grew up in Knoxville). Met my wife at Tennessee and I've been a VOL for life. Once you get it in your blood, it never goes away... something about East Tennessee in the fall, the crisp air and color in the trees... its magical. Oh yeah, and the southern women!

Incidently, at least when I was there, quite a few students are from out of state, so you definitely won't be alone in that regard. I knew people at UT from many states, including New Jersey, Ohio, and of course, from all over the south.

Welcome to VolNation, once you join the family, you never turn back.

What makes it so great? Going to Neyland Stadium on a hot fall afternoon, tailgating for hours, getting into the stadium early, watching the band, hearing 108,000 fans simultaneously singing Rocky Top, and the rush of adrenaline and goosebumps you get as the Vols come running through the opening of the T. Or is it just wearing orange everyday and not getting sick of it? Or is it heading down to the newly renovated Tompson Boling Arena in your orange basketball jersey with candy striped pants on, standing until the Vols make their first basket? What about the fact that the university is nestled between the beautiful countryside and mountains, along with the city life of Knoxville all right in reach. Surely there is nothing better than to be a Tennessee Volunteer!!!

Hello Vol of Steel, Welcome to VN :hi:

I know exactly where you are coming from being out of state and all. This year is my first year here at UT, I have lived in Atlanta my entire life. My parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins have almost all attended UT so I have been a life long fan, and I am continuing the family tradition. Once you step foot onto this campus for good, you will absolutely love it and you won't want to be anywhere else.

One piece of advice when you get here. Don't miss any games if at all possible because there is just something special being at the games as a student. Always cheer on the Vols with everything you've got and be Proud to be a TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER!!!

Welcome to the Nation. I like your avy. I was a Penguin fan before we got the Predators. It must suck being stuck around Phila fans though.
