Does anyone here really think that once the new coach is hired that everyone on this board will be satisfied?

I don't care who it is, he will have supporters and bashers. Regardless of what any of us think of the new HC, all will be based on W's and L's to whether or not the right hire was made.

Regardless of who Hammy brings in, there will be threads on how great of a hire he made and threads on how bad of a hire he made.

My opinion of the guy will matter no more than your opinion or the opinion of anyone else.

I find it funny how when the names Leach, Kelly, Davis, Gruden, Cowher, and so on are brought up, you will see supporters and hater of ALL these names.

IMO, we have to hope for the best out of the new coach. Hopefully we will not be back in the situation we are in right now just a few years from now.

If all Vols fans loved the new coach, could this forum survive? Difference of opinions is a good thing.

When it came out that Clawson was likely to be hired I had a fit. Explained how and why he was an awful hire. Cough Cough, I think I did this with another candidate recently. I hope I am not 2 for 2. But once it was official I made myself believe Clawson would work, I even named him Bear Claw. Most on here will do the same.

no, seeing as half the people on here think that Gruden or Cowher are the only qualified candidates.

Way to toot your own horn there buddy. I agree, as long as the coach is winning, idc who is the HC. I think its unfair that if we get a total no-name coach and he wins 6 games next year he'll probably be fired but if we get someone like Pete Carroll (which we wont) and he wins 6 games everybody will just say that its a rebuilding process.

As soon as we start losing next year, it's going to be the same thing all over again.

I have my opinion's on who I think will do good here and who won't, but regardless of the new head coach, i will support him, until he gives me a reason not to....Regardless of the coach, what happens next year i will not criticize him, after that he should be winning some games though.

I'm not expecting much next year, although i hope i'm wrong. I know we're going to have the talent, but i'm just not going to expect much, that way if we have anohter bad year i won't be mad.

so no grace period for a new coach?

Why pay top dollar and not get results. First season yeh 8 wins 9 wins tops is what we will have, but I fully expect to be competing with the likes of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, LSU and everyone else in the SEC for the top by the second year.
