From the looks of it we'll be dominant on D this year. How about we start Stephens, RUN the ball, throw off of play action, make sure to take care of the ball and let our D win the game. We don't have the OL or QB to really put up a lot of points against good competition so let control the clock and smash them with our D this year. Any thoughts guys?

I'm for it :good!:

Not to beat a really dead horse, but I am still shocked that Kiffin left Crompton in after that 3rd pick... Not sure how it looked on TV, but from being there, he telegraphed that pass for so long the corner was able to step in front of the receiver and wait for him to throw it. He didn't have to break on it, he knew exactly where it was going. And Crompton threw it anyway.

Still unbelievable.

That said, I do expect Crompton to still start at Florida. IMHO - IF CLK decides to change QB's, throwing Stevens into the proverbial Lion's (or Gator's) Den doesn't help anybody. It would be smarter to start him against Ohio so he could get some lighter work before facing Auburn.

Exactly.....

Kiffin is the type of coach that once he makes a change he is not going to change back...So if he makes the move to Stephens then Crompton is done (unless nick gets hurt)...This is just going to take some time until we get the players that we need in the Key positions to help us win...Tyler Bray better start reading the playbook now...we are gonna need him..

Really a good point there. But, I think that's what we did toward the end of the game.

1 If you really think Stephens could do better than Crompton don't you think CLK would have already had him playing?

2 Of the qb that we have available I really don't think it matters because the o-line is just as bad as any of the qb. Noone is going to be successful if they don't have two seconds to drop back go through your progressions and then throw. Their d-line was in our backfield before Crompton could even say sh-t.

3 We won't be able to control the clock with running game when we are getting blown off the line of scrimmage.

4 Do you know any other major program that has multiple walk-ons that are starting on their o-line?
(or any other position for that matter)
